Envelope the whole

Let’s talk about World of Warcraft for a moment, shall we?

I love this game.

Ok, now let’s talk about the World of Warcraft expansion for a moment.

I have seen a lot of speculation lately about what the new races are going to be. Well, at least for the Horde side. Nobody seems have even the slightest clue who will be joining the Alliance.

The most common guess is that Blood Elves are coming to join with the Horde. There have been screenshots of the expansion floating around that show what appears to be a Blood Elf hometown. Now, I don’t think this is the new race, and furthermore, I hope it isn’t. Let me explain why.

I don’t think it will be Blood Elves for a couple of reasons. First of all is the lore. According to Warcraft lore, there aren’t many Blood Elves left in the world. Maybe a hundred, if I recall? On top of that, I think the Blood Elves were allied with the Alliance for a time during one of the games.

Second of all, I would like to think that Blizzard is better than to just slap some new colors and ears on Night Elves and call it a new race. A lot of people will be disappointed if that’s the case.

Now here’s why I really hope Blood Elves aren’t coming to the Horde. And this is just my opinion. Everyone’s reasoning is that Blizzard is going to give the Horde a “pretty” race, to compete with Night Elves. We don’t need that.

The Horde houses its fair share of idiots, but the Alliance attracts all of the twelve-year-olds, who want to be their favorite fantasy heroes. I cannot beging to tell you how many Night Elf Hunters named some variation of “Legolas” I’ve seen.

Give us Ogres. A version of Ogres need to be Horde Playable. Or at the very least, give us Pandaren.

Opening day for the expansion will be fun, I gaurantee it. We’re going to call it “Alt Day”, because for the first time since launch, level one newbies will outnumber everyone else on the servers.
