‘Tis the season

January 4, 2008 by Tim

So, it’s about that time again. Winter-een-mas is just around the corner. Though from all the emails I’ve been getting about it, I imagine most of you already knew that. This will be the 6th annual Winter-een-mas celebration, if you can believe that.

At this point the holiday is largely out of my hands. We will, of course, always continue to celebrate the holiday here at Ctrl+Alt+Del, but its really mostly up to you guys now. The people that dig what the holiday is about will celebrate it, and those that don’t, won’t. But your word of mouth is what really makes the holiday grow each year. The WEMas forums are open now for you to gather with fellow gamers and talk about celebrating, and also to check out discussions and such from past Winter-een-mas celebrations.

I have a few plans for the holiday season this year. Last year I created a cut-out crown that people could print out and assemble and wear during their holiday festivities and such. This year my priority goal is to start creating some Winter-een-mas greeting cards that people can print out and pass around to their friends. I’m also toying with the idea of writing a 7-page Winter-een-mas story that will update every day during the holiday, like I did back in 2004.

All in all it should be a pretty fun holiday this year, and I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone does with it. We will be offering shirts again, for those interested, I’m just waiting to hear back on when they might be available. I’ll let you know.

Also, a few of the writers at CADMedia have chosen their top-5 picks for 2007. What do you think? Do you agree or disagree? Discuss it in the forums!

I myself am finally setting aside some time to play through Uncharted, which I’ve been dying to do for weeks. I’ll let you know what I think.
