PC master race – Sorry I don’t care how powerful consoles get then need to get better controllers before they can compete in a lot of genres.

Its to bad that Console purests don’t realize that they are heavily out classed in controls in everything but platformers and driving games. I too my room mate who sucks at FPS on console and put him on a PC and now he’s actually able to keep up with me in games.

Gamepads are also better for fighting games. But you can use gamepads on PCs too, so yeah. PC wins.

And older games can often be played on emulators on computers… (FFV!)

One day one of them will accidentally toss a missile in the wrong direction.

I’ll admit, I’ve been playing on PC a long time, but I’ll also admit that consoles aren’t all that bad, either. My two go-to favorites are the good old PS2 and the trusty old N64 for those times where I want to invite a few old friends over and bring out the local-multiplayer games. PC, I prefer for my single-player games. Not a big fan of Online Multiplayer, personally. When it comes to controls, however, that entirely depends on the game I’m playing and the system I’m using. For the PC, with racing games, I want my steering wheel, flight… Read more »

three times in that you mention ‘Trusty old’, you’ve got to admit that nostalgia is heavily at play there.

That said, I’d always used the default controllers for Nintendo consoles, never had an official give up on me, but burnt through competition pro’s playing that mario party wind up shyguy minigame, killed several third party controllers on Smash Melee, Nintendo stuff is remarkably hard-wearing!

as for the pc v console debate, they’re just different ways of playing which suit different people, IMO.

As a generally PC gamer I have to say the PS4 came as an annoying shock. Why annoying? Well the Blu-ray player on my PC did not come with updates and when the latest new movies came out was told to shell out $300 to make the player I already had even work. Play a recently released game? $2000 to upgrade to the latest hardware. Or $300 bought a PS4. Play recently released console game in good graphics and sound. Controls worked fine. (Nomad was easier to drive with a controller than a keyboard.) And those movies my PC would… Read more »

$2000 to upgrade to the latest hardware, where did you get this number? and $300 to make your blue ray player even work? you didn’t go to one of those PC repair joints did you? they are worse than mechanics.

and where did you get a PS4 for $300? I checked Walmart the other day and they are still $400 there.

From the grocery store, from the kindly Taiwanese gentleman. Incidentally, it looks like a slab of rotting fish.
