I appreciate that you probably think this is my first rodeo, but I am a KDM backer since the original Kickstarter. I’ve been playing this game since I received my KS reward in September of 2015. I’ve lost count of the number of Butchers I’ve faced (and beaten) at this point 😉
However, facing him with four age zero survivors immediately following 2 TPK’s that yielded no resources is just about as brutal as you can get 🙂
You’re the one who got me to buy KDM, I had never heard of it, saw a few posts on Reddit when people started getting theirs, it seemed intriguing, then I saw your comic where you described it as civ, monster hunter, and dark souls combined followed by the testicle brain high five. Ordered it the next day. Best 300 bucks I’ve ever spent (and all my board game geek friends thought I was crazy spending that much on a board game until they played it).
That’s the same comic and related post that got me into KDM! I spent 90 min staring at the purchase screen wondering if I would fork over that much money, totally worth it though.
Ditto, and with the exchange rate and shipping it came out to $600 here…I had planned to wait for the next run since it was on back order and I would have time to save, but then suddenly a couple days later it went on sale 25% off…I spent half a day debating it but love the game, definitely worth it.

While it looks fun as hell, that pricepoint of 400 for the core kit makes it a bit out of the normal gamers budget
For Mexico 400 USD equals 7440 MXN, that’s too much to spend in a game. An average family earns that in a month in Mexico (a family of upper middle class). Then it is not a good offer. Sorry, the game seems interesting, but no, thank you.
One day, I shall play KDM. To be honest, I thought it was The Butcher from Warmachine.

I really like your KD:M comics so far, i think i’ve heard about the game first on your original comic that you did back in 2015 with Number 2 (i think) making miniature with whatever was left from all the TPK he got.
(I mean, everyone has their own thing but the game just wasn’t fun for me)

I like KDM. the main problem I have with it is that I don’t like assembling miniatures
luckily I have a friend who is willing to do that for me, in exchange for a campaign ^_^
we are on are first one and all is well so far. we just got passed our butcher with only 1 death. that makes only 2 deaths in our campaign so far. I’m pretty sure we’ve been lucky since we have chosen not to read ahead and face anything blind. including decisions we make
it’s fun.
didn’t know you too play KD:M
if you think the butcher is hard… good luck… there are much worst 😉

Mmhmm, especially for people outside of the USA. After exchange rates, not including shipping, it works out to NZ$550ish.

Player one.
Hope you do another of those KD:M series, that one was fun to watch.
These are fantastic. Please continue to document your KDM games in comic form!
Great comic, would love to see the fruits of future campaigns! Loved it!
Also a 1.0 KDM KS Backer here, we still have troubles with the butcher… a lotta things have to go right from the get go
I can’t see The Butcher without thinking Diablo
Ahhhh Fresh Meat!
Oryx?
I am ashamed that anyone else gets that joke. (The Oryx one)
I tried it and then stopped. Permadeath isn’t fun in THAT way
