It does look inspired by him looking at the previous drawings.
I mean. I’d do it if it were my kid. But then again it also spoils that no harm will come to him.
Also, can’t believe you’ve finally answered me. Been around here for 15 years!
I guess there are some similarities, but it was not a conscious decision 😉

Honestly, I kind of like the kid. Given the all have a video game theme, I kinda hope they team up, do some mentoring, have some wacky hijinks and pray the kid doesn’t die at the hands of some twisted Joker analogue.
It now occurs to me that ‘Analogue Joker’ would be a great videogame themed ‘tounge-in-cheek’ cheesy ripoff villain for this comic.

I know Lucas claims he didn’t do anything, but I suspect from the grin on his face that that might not be entirely true.
Also: Love the comic!

It’s kind of funny – when I think about the scenarios that Ethan’s power WOULD be useful in, it’s pretty much “save the world” scenarios. Though it’s really great to see this humility. I love the way his character is developing.
That would be dumb and unoriginal. I’m sure Tim can come up with something better. Something more exciting, unexpected, and has good emotional impact after a lot of good character development

Ethan could save an incredible number of lives by working on cleaning mine fields.
Nuclear Meltdowns, all sorts of things, plus just the regular old run of the mill running into burning buildings to save people. His power possibly the most powerful one we’ve seen yet in the comic.
Minefields, ABSOLUTELY! Radioactive sources… maybe not so much. We don’t really know how he got his power, or what could stop it from working. Gamma radiation could be his big weakness. Best not to test that theory in an area where no one else could even safely remove his body if things go poorly.

Ethan: How did you find us?
Sam: You were just standing on the roof where anyone whose looking can see you, maybe try hiding?

I still see a strong resemblance to Tony and Peter. Granted, a little less functional, but still.
Is Gameboy Tim’s kid?
My oldest is five… XD
So that’s a yes? ;D

Ethan will die at the end of some twisted Joker analogue. But its fine :D.

Also, YES, GameBoy is back. Love that little guy.
Also, love the new comment system!
Lemme know if you find any weirdness, but yeah, replies should be back to functioning order, and I guess we have upvoting now!
Yeah, I can get behind this new comment system. Looks good, seems to work well enough. Functional, and adds a feature, so I like it.
Really dig it, too.
And finally I can give some of these great comments a thumbs up 😀
The smelling of magnanimous changes of heart. Sounds like another superpower to me.
Nah. They had curry yesterday. You’re not smelling magnanimity.
I forgot how cool 20-somethings seemed as a teenager. This makes total sense 😛
Here’s hoping he doesn’t take it to “fan boy” levels over them. xD
(in the sense of how kids “fan boy”, not what we do as adults xP )
Yes, more Gameboy time is good time! 😀
I’m loving the new discussion layout. Much easier to tell that your reply is going to be a reply.
“It’s… it’s me… The Gameboy! We met? Last night?”
Yeah, can’t dislike this kid.
Come on, Ethan, get him under your incapable wing already!
Holy moly new comment sections!
Interesting new changes are interesting.
4 weeks later…
“Hi guys!”
“How the hell do you keep on finding us?!”
“I hacked your comms”
I’m surprised you didn’t go for the pun there. “‘Macmanimus’ change of heart.”
Anyone else feel like Gameboy is gonna pull an Incredibles Syndrome at some point?
