Ok, it sounds like Analog and D-Pad would be staking out this shared warehouse rather than a games store?
I like that plan. Still more responsible than making Thad’s store a target, and gives them a bit of distance from their civilian identities. And it’ll hopefully mean less risk of civilians being caught up in the crossfire too.
I still think not running this by Ben is a bad idea, but apart from that it seems good. Touchwood.
True, the *real* plan probably isn’t a shared warehouse (I forgot Ethan is attempting to trick Thad here)… but the way I’m reading it, Lucas’ plan was to plant the idea of putting the stock in a secret warehouse into Thad’s head.
Then they just stake that warehouse out.
Considering how heavily Ethan is pushing the “I was told to suggest this to you but I really hope you won’t go along with it because I hate you and I want you to suffer” angle, my guess is that the plan is for the exact opposite to happen and that he’s banking on Thad agreeing with the plan both to protect his own ass and to spite Ethan. Thus making an unaffiliated, live-target-sparse area that can be easily reconnoitered a prime target for whoever’s doing it and keeping their own identities separate from the game store. Plus, it’s not… Read more »
I’m actually not troubled by this. It’s a case of “Either way we win.” Of course Ethan expected him to say no – in this case, they know the likely next target and can be prepared. But if he had actually said “Yeah, let’s do it,” then the games are secured and there’s potentially less risk to any people in the area.

i think Thad REALLY believes that last statement. and hes right! it is stupid!
Not only is it stupid, but a suspicious person could start linking Ethan with these attacks

Nice reverse psychology on Ethan’s part, using their cold-blooded rivalry of one another to try to scare Thad into going with the plan. Guess we’ll see on Friday whether it works or not.

Well played, tho im still not sure what the actual plan here is. Could be a few things, im guessing making Thad move his stuff but prob not to a warehouse, something similar but not Ethans idea? Either way ill see within a few days i assume.

I hate to be on Thad’s side, but… he’s right to refuse? Even if he wanted, I don’t think he’d be allowed to move or hide his stock anywhere without the corporate’s approval, and even then, it should be their responsibility, not his
How? Ethan: “Hey. I hate you, you hate me, I’m here only because I have a conscience. There’s a killer in town, targeting our stores. I have a proposal for you.” Thad: “We have private security. We’re fine.” Ethan: “Yeah, these other guys had security too. They’re dead now.” Thad: “What?” Ethan: “Yeah. So, hear me out: we work together.” Thad: “Yeah, no.” Ethan: “Whelp, I tried. Didn’t want to work with you anyway. Now if-slash-when something happens to you, I don’t have to feel bad.” What, are you trying to liken this to gangs trying to run a protection… Read more »
Despite Ethan’s negative stance, he *is* standing there to offer a possible solution to them possibly being murdered and their stock burned. If you offer your nemesis a chance to join up to weather a storm, while painting a vivid picture of what happens if they don’t, it seems hard to see it as malice.
People also aren’t allowed to give money away. Yet if someone comes over to rob you, you give it to them. It is often even company policy. People shouldn’t be in danger for minor cash money that in most cases is insured. Thad is in potential danger and an action for his and his employees safety is probably sanctioned.

He’s got a red shirt so of course he’s going to die.
Only if it’s TOS rules! Anything TNG or later and he has plot armor!

Are people still getting upset over video games and blaming them for violence?
It feels like this is a decade old culture war, which has been replaced by immigrants and trans people by the fear mongers…
Speaking of, you’ll be surprised at the amount of scapegoating going on in school shootings. All sorts of media are blamed, of which video games are only one part.
There are entire factions with agendas who are hell bent on making sure things other than “their side” take the fall for gun violence.
The parents of the Ulvade school shooting are suing Call of Duty. That was just last year.Unfortuntly they have a lot of room in thier heads for blaming others for thier own failings.

Caltrop mines in the store! Catches the perp (Once), can blame it on them AND sabotages the competition. A triple win!

Did the update cadence change? Because I would have expected one by now.
I’ve been refreshing for more than 6 hours now. Since these are from a buffer anyway, there really should be an auto-posting scheduler set up at some point.
Having had one before, trust me, once you start drinking that nasty prep solution, you ain’t getting anything done for a good solid 24 hours.
Here’s hoping he realizes what’s up soon!

I think the actual plan is, Thad moves his stock to a warehouse thereby removing themselves as a target, leaving Analog and D-Pad watching over their own store which is now the only target left.

And yet two comic strips ago…
“… but it relies on your ability to trick Thad into doing something we want him to, just to try and spite you.”
It seems Analog and D-Pad wants to ENSURE Thad’s store is a target, by suggesting the exact opposite.
really either way works! i bet patrons would have insider info on this.. feels like a choose your adventure story!
It’s not a choose your own adventure story, Patrons have no influence on this one.

We’ll see how the story unfolds 🙂
They want Game Haven to be bait, and will rescue Thad’s undeserving hide from the murderer.

If you think about it, Thad’s store is probably already a big target since it’s part of a chain of video game stores.

It’s only partially true. Yes, it is a stupid idea, but we are talking about Ethan. This is far from the stupidEST idea he had.
Not only is it stupid, but a suspicious person could start linking Ethan with these attacks

I’d be calling the police. Ethan is doing everything but make direct threats
We know Ethan is a superhero
Thad doesn’t, and to be frank, is a bit of a douche who really doesn’t like Ethan. At all
If I was Thad, I’d end up wondering why someone I detest is offering a weird solution
Though, if he has enough experience with Ethan, then he might know that “weird” is Ethan’s natural state of being

Twice in one week. Monday’s was later, too, but I thought it was up by this time.
Yeah, it’s not just you. I think something broke. 😳
Usually if something breaks, Tim is on it fairly quickly.
Let’s start doing conspiracy theories!
Tim has gone into witness protection
Tim has been kidnapped by the anti-video game mafia.
Tim sold CAD to Disney
Tim was silenced by Elijah for knowing too mu
Maybe he had his colonoscopy booked for today?

Also, calling it now. Ethan is killed and that’s how we find out Ethan still has his powers.
This feels like a rain dance at this point lol. Keep predicting Ethan will die and respawn, we’ll be right one of these days!
Did Tim change the upload schedule for the comic? this is still from Wednesday, even though it uploaded on Thursday…
Did Tim change the upload schedule? This comic uploaded yesterday and hasn’t changed for Friday like it normally does.
When it’s Friday with no comic it worries me if this is a cliff hanger.
