This one kinda hit the feels a little. I have been in this position a lot in the past year and a half where I didn’t want to be alone, but there was nothing going on that I was interested in. So I just paced the house or endless scrolling through streaming services to try finding something that looked interesting but nothing did.
That’s because everyone around been boasting and lying about lasting more than 5min without blasting their glue – any normal man would feel pressured and depressed…
Walks help. Expends some energy with less pacing. Lets the brain think and churn or drift and wander as the mood occurs. Just the change from an enclosed space to some fresh air and whatever weather is available can offer a bit of respite.
It’ll be difficult and cost a lot of energy, but keep going out with friends and do actual stuff. Socials and streaming are not as social as you might hope.
Do a course in building furniture, learn to drive a shovel, do a painting class. Get busy. You’ll feel better than watching streaming services.
Sometimes it’s better to go and do something you might not be interested in just to get out of the house for a bit. It’s definitely easier if you have a friend that just tells you you’re going out, but overall I’m in this situation a lot because of my depression and it’s better to be bored with people than bored alone.

Wild predictions time! Ethan goes to a touch museum, touches something that shouldn’t be touched and we finally know if he respawns! Epic conclusion to that arc: do not touch the the jellyfish in the ocean park.
Everyone happy! I mean, who doesn’t like colourful fish?

Fun option: Ethan is going to a blind date with Caroline, Lilah’s roommate. They both recognise each other immediately but can say nothing.
Why would Ethan recognize Caroline? I don’t recall them ever meeting. And he usually only stalks her at work (hopefully just the once or twice).

Crashing in with intrusions of actual life, are Ethan and Lucas going to see Latinos being kidnapped by masked, anonymous thugs anytime soon? Fiction can be a great way to address real-life issues.

I so hope that “in the sea” referred to the fact that there are other fish in the sea than the one who explicitly stated that she’s not interested in him romantically.

I ain’t no doctor, but it could be something like a depression. You probably should talk to someone about it. Hang in there 😉

Yeah, I get it. Keeping yourself busy only works until you slow down. Depression makes you feel even more lonely.
time for a walk

If you aren’t there already, you’ll get there.
