Eh, it’s not that hard: just stand awkwardly further away from people and if someone comes to talk to you, just reply to any direct questions in as terse manner as possible but don’t ask anything yourself. Don’t say anything unless asked directly, just be quiet.
Extroverts will quickly deem you unpleasant to talk to and leave you alone.
Yeah, but you’ll also get the reputation long term and then your kid might have some of that rub off on them. Alas, the kid that wants to do things like play team sports might find that more uncomfortable than we do…
Wow you hit the jackpot of unintentional trolling it seems.
Either Tim is voting you down every day he wakes up or after a nap or there are some real butthurt fanboys here doing the job.
Really I am impressed about your redness.

Oh my gawsh do I feel this on a deep, spiritual level…
Our children will never fully understand the sacrifices we make for them 😅

I’d rather run around a field kicking a ball than make small talk, not going to lie.

As an autistic, I feel this so much.

I would say, find the other introvert and stand together. Perhaps talk a bit about D&D or something that interests you to find the common ground. You never know …
Currently some of my best friends are the parents of friends of my daughter, and we mainly started hanging out through our children. You’re doomed to hang out, so might as well try to enjoy it 🙂

As someone who goes hard on exercise… I definitely would find small talk with people at a sporting thing WAY more exhausting than say… a 16 mile hike with lots of elevation gain.

Especially when the talk turns to “did you hear about that trade West Georgia made with North Chicago? What were they thinking? This is the biggest sportsball story since Bobby McBob won the Heimlich trophy!” I hope nothing crazy happens while I’m at deer camp for the next two weeks. There’s a 67 point I’ve been watching on the trail camera.
Meanwhile, I’m over here excited about finally collecting all of the Stones of Barenziah last night…
Sheesh. I didn’t bother setting a ruler because I was roughing it in rather quickly, but I think I got the vanishing point pretty close for just eyeballing the lines.

My wife avoided this by video recording all the games. Nobody talks to you when it will be recorded.

Just learn to talk like Solid Snake and youll get through enery conversation just fine.
I took my girls to a birthday party at a friends house a couple weeks ago. I’m still in recovery from the obligatory small-talk while they were playing.

This is easy to avoid – you just have to volunteer to coach. Then none of the parents will talk to you. They might yell at you, or send you threatening messages. They’ll definitely talk about you, but they won’t talk to you.
Jum…Did I appreciate a little style change?
Oh man I feel this so much

I just stare at my phone. Seems to work most of the time.
So Tim’s wife is essentially old-style Lilah?

I hate the Barenziah quest so much. 😂 I’ve never cleared it without the mod that adds quest markers to the stones.
Just be like Solid Snake and repeat the last thing a person said during conversation.
hey, socializing IS hard work!
The perspective on the football pitch in the background is a bit weird. PLEASE don’t tell me that was AI-generated…

You’re the second person to say this haha. Is this some new meme, or just an old one I forgot/didn’t know about?
Talk like Solid Snake?!
