I’m thinking that his murder when she “snaps” might be a nice (okay not NICE nice, but…convenient) way for him to discover the Troll was just, uh, trolling about his powers.
this is no longer a red flag, this is a Victory Day parade at the Red Square, with battalions of soldiers marching with red flags.

I think I got it… when she finally snaps and breaks him in half in a fit of jealous rage we’re gonna see that he’s still got his powers when he respawns.

Dibs on girly being a mind flayer or something the like.
Probably because Nicole’s technique is very true to life. Ethan and Scott fighting over a robot’s exploding head isn’t as close to our reality as a simple toxic, abusive relationship. Other storylines explore issues through the superhero genre (Emily and Ethan break up because he lies to hide a part of himself she hates, how do people react to crazy crime as seen through the lens of ‘supers,’ digital survellience exposing the guys’ identities to the Master, Lucas’ paranoia about outing his unregistered status to his cop boyfriend, etc.). This storyline is just a character in the genre going through… Read more »
Right, by her hand either pulling him away or…other means if she goes that far.

I don’t really like Ethan very much, but I hate seeing anyone in an abusive relationship and that’s exactly where this is headed. Love-bombing, isolating from his nearest and dearest, infantilization, she’s got it all. All she needs is an excuse to beat the bejeebers out of him and then the OOT apology and the explanation of why she had to do it but if he just does/doesn’t do X it’ll never happen again.
I thought negging was a comment that can be interpreted as a compliment but actually brings down the receiver. “Those glasses make you look absolutely incredible. It hides your nose.”
Is negging also applicable to the friends of the target?
I think negging can be anything that involves bringing down the other person, backhanded compliments are just one way to do it. The relevant part is the making the victim feel worse about themselves, causing them to be more willing (desperate) to go/stay with the one person that is apparently still interested in them despite their myriad of flaws.
It’s anything that strikes a blow to the target’s self-esteem through a compliment. If not blatant sarcasm, the point is to make the speaker sound like the sole confidant. It can be a single phrase with dual interpretation, or broken up in tandem remarks that are related.

Do people really end up in bed together after just one month of dating or less?
Yes, I’m doing what I’m comfortable with. Which is not being with anyone, no friends, no girlfriends, no boyfriends etc 😀 I kind of think all that relationship stuff is kinda disgusting (too strong word, don’t know other) but instead of screaming and founding a political party, I keep to myself and play video games 😀
Yet I still wonder why people live like this. Even though I’m past 40 😀
Silly, I know.
Unless they’re religious or long distance or something, one month may well be towards the high end for the USA. Any longer and a lot of people start to wonder, or move on. No judgment, just seems to be what I saw before I got married.
Fastest I’ve ever ended up in that situation was about two hours but I definitely know people who have known the other person for like 15 minutes before. I can’t recommend it though, although your experience may vary.
Finally, someone accurately determined her superpower!

How long till the reveal that she is actually the troll after heavy reconstruction work and stuff?
It comes right after the reveal that these are just characters played by the players from ‘The Campaign’, which turns out to be a historical text in the Starcaster Universe. (Cort finds it in the remnants of an Starcaster-drained star)
Apologies for the lack of spoiler warnings.

Late post, or no comic for the holiday today?
I am admittedly eager for Ethan to extract himself from Nicole’s claws, though in reality thus stuff can, sadly, go on for a while. He at least seems to sort of get it, but his loneliness is making him stay in a bad situation. It’a a hard lesson to learn for some, but eventually one learns to identify the feeling that you can be just as alone “with” someone as when you’re actually alone.
Silly me, maybe 20 minutes later my question gets answered and then I feel goofy for even asking. In my defense, it was late morning (USA) and I was getting hungry for lunch. 😛
i can’t blame him. that takes away my thinking as well
We were all so worried, and all she just wants is take care of him. We were so wrong!
Sarcasm.
I can’t wait to see her show her true colors in a huge WTF moment.
I’m thinking that his murder when she “snaps” might be a nice (okay not NICE nice, but…convenient) way for him to discover the Troll was just, uh, trolling about his powers.
Just gotta hope he respawns outside her apartment.
Or she might decide to keep him even more. An outlet for her more brutal side with a warranty.
From my observation, it happens 12 years later after marriage and 2 children.
She’s gotta be a super, right? Every time she does that touch, Ethan’s gray matter seems to stop functioning.
The evil Widow?
This is Ethan we’re talking about. His grey matter hardly functions anyway.
(Though when it does, he actually has a lot of hidden wisdom)
His grey matter hardly worked to begin with, are you a new fan?
I think that’s called the power of “Being an attractive woman”. It seems that it’s the kryptonite of MANY men, regardless of age, IQ, or willpower.
First time?
What is she doing with her tongue…?
And is it really a tongue, BTW…?
We’ll tell you when you’re older..

She’d have starved to death at this point!
Oh dear Lord….. all the red flags are waving so hard. She wants to isolate him away from everybody so he only has her to hold on to.
Classic toxic behaviour.
Oh god, this is painful to watch.

I can tell you that some people end up in bed much quicker than that. You should do what you are comfortable with, no matter what other people says.
Yes, I’m doing what I’m comfortable with. Silly, I know.
Being asexual is not silly.
You can choose to live your life whatever way you like (as long as you don’t hurt anyone else with it)

The question is less based on how long you’ve known each other and more on how long you expect to know each other afterwards :P.
Here comes the cringe circus again…
I’m…very concerned for Ethan. Something horrible is going to happen to him. (cringe emoji inserted)
dude is gonna end up tied up in a basement, I can see it
