Hey, who needs to pay good money for a game strategy guide if you can get on the ‘net & find the cheat code & play in God Mode? Plus, you won’t have to waste your time listening to Ethan preaching at you. Win-win.

but if you figure back in 2007 internet strategy guides didn’t exist, you had to have a manual or you were screwed

And even today, games come with strategy guides, both digital and physical, much like the games .

Gamefaqs existed, and had quite the extensive catalog of games. More primitive than the wikis of today, but still…

I still remember Gamefaqs back when it was “Secrets of the Sega Sages”. Made you feel like you were heir to a hidden tome when you happened upon it and gazed upon its untold wealth of secrets!
