Some notes about things

December 17, 2004 by Tim

First of all, thank you to everyone who emailed this week to show appreciation for the comic. You didn’t have to, but you did it anyway. I was attempting to respond to them for a while, but after the sixth bout of answering a hundred emails, only find that during that time I have received one hundred and fifty more, I just gave up. I don’t know how many emails I got, I lost count somewhere between one and ten-thousand, but although I couldn’t respond to them all, I did make an effort to read them all.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about Winter-een-mas. I am in the process of setting up a massive FAQ that should answer all of your inquiries, as well as a whole bunch of new information for this year. In the meantime, you can check out last year’s write-up found here, for some preliminary info.

Winter-een-mas is going to pretty big this year. I’ve gotten word from a few video-game store managers that are interested in holding Winter-een-mas contests and tournaments. If you manage, or work at an establishment that is planning on organizing some sort of Winter-een-mas event next month, feel free to email me with the information. I will try to compile a list of locations where things may be happening in celebration of Winter-een-mas, so gamers can congregate at aforementioned places.

That being said, I must stress that I will list public events only, being held in a public extablishment like a game store or LAN center. That means don’t send me an email that you’re having a LAN party in your basement and you want me to announce it.

Furthermore, I know many of you are anxious for Winter-een-mas, but please don’t forget that the season doesn’t get going until January. We have enough to worry about right now with all of those other holidays.

The actual Winter-een-mas holiday is always the last seven days of January, the 25th through the 31st.

I hope to be able to show you the Winter-een-mas shirt designs later on this evening.
