A couple of things to start with. I’d like to wish the United States Marine Corps a happy 231st birthday. My uncle is a Marine, and I have a lot of respect for all of the men and women in our country’s armed forces. So go out and celebrate this weekend!
The Spider-man 3 trailer is out, and damn it looks pretty good. No glimpses of Brock as Venom, but plenty of footage of the symbiote suit. Very psyched about this film.
I’ve played a fair bit of Gears of War over the past two days, and I can now truly say it lived up to pretty much everything everyone expected. I won’t go overboard with praise, as all you have to do is take a look at… well practically any review on the web to see that the game is good. It’s going to be a tough game to beat, this holiday season. I think I would even say that this game is a “must own” if you have a 360.
I also played a bit of Call of Duty 3 (online, not campaign), and while it’s really, really good looking, I have to say I’m a bit disappointed. Despite the addition of vehicles, and the fancy new graphics, the game just feels… old. Plus I think they got rid of the “Kill Cam” that I loved from CoD2. It seems to be a solid multiplayer game, but next to something like Gears of War, it just loses some of it’s appeal.
Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is incredible though. It has completely revived my interest in the Tony Hawk franchise. It’s got tons of options, tricks and combos, but without all the clutter that I felt in American Wasteland.
For CAD Premium members, episode 10 is up for your enjoyment, and it’s been getting very good reviews, which we’re happy about because episode 9 sort of flopped. I’ve also posted a 6-page sneak preview of the upcoming Analog and D+Pad comic book. I’ll be posting it here on the main site in a week or two.
Also, Mtv/Xfire’s Gamer’s Week next week. I’m scheduled for Tuesday.
