Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be announcing our tournament lineup for Digital Overload 2009, leading up to the opening of online tournament registration after the new year. Remember: You can not sign up for tournaments unless you’ve purchased your badge, and there aren’t many left. Additionally, the price of badges will be going up again on January 7th 2009.

Last year we hosted a 5v5 Call of Duty 4 Search and Destroy tournament with a great turnout, and the game continues to be one of the most popular first-person shooters (and with good reason). So we’ve decided to run another one, this time 5v5 Sabotage!
(Xbox360)
For the last two years, our Gears of War tournament has been one of the most popular competitions at Digital Overload. One team, Sparkle Motion, is the reigning Digital Overload champion, having taken first place in that tournament both years. With Gears of War 2 out, we thought we’d give them a chance to defend their title, or give another team a chance to take the crown. Gears of War 2 will remain a 4v4 tournament.

Privateer Press is joining us as a sponsor again, and I am pleased to announce that we will be hosting a number of WARMACHINE/HORDES tournaments at Digital Overload 2009. We will have a number of volunteer Pressgangers at the event to run games all weekend. And remember, we now offer a Tabletop-only badge at a reduced price, for those of you that just want to come and play/compete in tabletop games at Digital Overload.
Stay tuned over the next couple of weeks as we announce more tournaments, the schedule of tournaments at the events, and open sign-ups for tournaments and events after the new year. Tournament slots usually fill up fast, so make sure you’ve already secured your badge!
