Ok first up, the books. Two issues.
Right now I am in the middle of the proofing process. This is the time when I send them the files, they send it back to me in semi-book form, I review it for errors, send it back to them, they fix the errors and send it back to me, and so on and so forth until I am satisfied that the book is ready for print.
You’ll notice that on the ordering page it is very clear that these books were a pre-order item. This means that you order them, and receive them at a later date. So a certain number of you can stop emailing ZeStuff asking why you have not received your books yet.
Furthermore, you will notice a shipping date of “around July 15th”. That does not mean the books are shipping on July 15th. In fact, I can tell you right now with certainty that they will not be. I am not going to send a book to print full of typos and errors. I do expect the book to ship before the end of the month, but at this point I am not prepared to make you any promises. Just relax. The books will ship soon, and you will receive the book you ordered.
On that note, due to a glitch in the inventory tracking system that was not caught until recently, it appears we have oversold the Limited Edition Hardcovers. This means we sold more than the 500 we had planned to produce. Faced with the decision to cancel a whole bunch of orders, I have instead chosen to up the print run for the Limited Edition Hardcovers to 600. This will take care of the extra orders we took. It’s just easier for everyone this way.
Just because we are printing more than originally planned, does not mean they are available to buy. Please stop emailing us asking to purchase them.
It’s raining here today. I love the rain.
Next weekend I will be in Hartford, Connecticut for ConnectiCon. We’ll have some shirts, some posters, maybe a copy or two of the first print run of Volume One (if you get there first thing on Friday) and of course, my awesomeness.
I’ll be in the dealer’s room most of the weekend, as well as doing some Q&A panels, so come prepared to ask me stuff.
I’m also being auctioned off for a good cause, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Basically you can bid on me, and the winner gets to have dinner with me. The auction takes place from 4-5pm on Saturday, and I believe the dinner is on Sunday.
Also on Saturday, the Webcomic challenge takes place, and I have been charged with assembling ateam. I can create a team of seven people (six plus me), so I will be doing that this weekend. I will make a post below with details on that.
ConnectiCon is going to be a huge blast this year, so I really suggest you be in attendance.
EA/Dice have informed some certain people that they may expect a patch this afternoon, which should address the inherent lag issues introduced with the last patch. I’m not sure if this is a server-side only patch yet, but I’ll keep you informed as I find out.
Lag or no, all of the CAD/8BT fans are having an absolute blast playing on our servers. If you want to help support the BF2 servers, sign up on the forums, go to your User CP and sign up under the ‘Paid Subscriptions’ menu. This helps support our CAD/8BT servers, and also gives you access to the private BF2 forum where we all discuss strategies and tactics and plan games on the private servers just for us.
