That expression on Scotts face is epic! I mean.. how? It is just the shape of the mouth and narrow eyes, but it conveys so much contempt and disgust. So how is that drawn? Trough experience? Expression references? Countless iterations?
I think he sees lots of danger. Nothing that will harm people but enough that he can justify blowing the bomb.Something like Zeke trying to contact the Master.
Except the master doesn’t know zeke is still alive and zeke may not know that the master thinks he dead(don’t think they mentioned that to him) zeke may taunt his old master which could cause the guy to act drastically.

And then when they watch what X1’s been accessing… it’s just YouTube.
Austin Evans
Spawn Wave
iFixit
Each of them slowly, methodically, doing a tear down of each current console, at playback speed 0.25, while a second stream plays sexy music in the background.
I would hope he doesn’t watch Austin Evans for that. From what I hear, Austin Evans broke both his PS5 controller and PS5 console. Watching a squishy meatbag destroy the superior electronic race is probably not something X1 would enjoy.
ROFLMAO!!!!!!! Never laughed so hard this year yet. Thanks for the laugh Tim.

To be fair if he wanted to he could snap Scott’s neck right now that he has everything he wants, and I call that a soft-pass on the test.

So, how fast CAN he absorb data? I get that his programming shifts constantly so he’s more like an mind that can’t simply be downloaded but how quickly does he process and retain information. If he spent an hour binging how-to videos or reading through readily available technical manuals will he be able to use this information? Basically I’m curious how fast he can “learn” things now that he is actually connected.
As fast as the connection permits I would assume. He parsed the entirety of the original Fallout pretty much instantly. There’s certainly going to be a gap between theoretical knowledge of a process and practical experience/expertise, but anything that’s a straightforward process should be more than manageable. Tasks with more creative/subjective aspects might take practice though.
Except he read the code and was basically unimpressed. It wasn’t till he played it that he got the experience. So I imagine he can see the internet like a coder, but not ‘converse’ or make context without using the interfaces. He was taught that.
Oddly now I have an odd question. Can Zeke run Doom? Because he can ‘see code’ Can he run it on himself?
He took it apart and read it all in a matter of seconds, along with “calculating every possible battle outcome”, or so he claims. I agree that he obviously didn’t “experience” it but he still managed to access and at the very least understand everything he is looking at almost instantaneously even if he didn’t understand the “experience”. The distinction between “understanding” and “learning” something, like a skill, can be pretty big and its obvious he falls somewhere in the middle.
Is he excited about the WiFi, or did he immediately log into his favorite “dating sim?”

Whatever you do, don’t check the browsing history.
And keep an eye on your data usage.
Quick question/thought. He’s got into games. What if he finds say, wow or LoL. ‘excuse me, where are you going’. “OH I have to go murder thunderhead32 from LOL”. ‘Oh that guy? normally i’d say no but this one is a freebee’.

This brings up an interesting thought. He’s an ai with above human faculties. Assuming he has WiFi capability he could have connected to any unsecured WiFi signal or brute forced his way through any available signal around him. This whole WiFi password thing would have been the work of hours or at most days for him to circumvent. Plot hole or Tim showing us he’s trying to play ball with the guys?
Tim already explained that in a previous comic comment; It wasn’t a simple ‘need password’ problem, Scott had directly disabled the hardware X1 needed to access the WiFi.
I don’t know why everyone assumes hacking an encrypted password is trivial for an AI just because he has “above human” faculties. Especially an AI where it’s already known a great deal of his processor is dedicated to constantly rewriting its own mind.
Seriously, your home PC has way above human faculties and brute forcing a properly encrypted password isn’t trivial. Why do you assume he has more spare processing power available than a strong PC? An AI mind has a different set of limitations and problems than a human one, but it’s still got a lot of limitations.
Well when he gets connected to a computer the first time and “plays” Fallout he claims to have parsed the dat files, experienced or at least viewed all dialogue options and endings and even “calculated every possible battle outcome”. He obviously understands computers well enough and it’s not hard to imagine he could do what is required at a faster rate due to his more direct control.

My first thought was that Scott might also be seeing signs that Zeke is more than just algorithms, that he’s showing genuine signs of thought and self-actualization – not to mention a twisted sense of humor!

Does he have to worry about computer viruses? Should we get him Norton or something?
Norton is a protection racket insofar they release viruses just to sell you the anti-virus; if anything, Zeke will demolish their entire business out of spite.
Scott is like : “I immediately regret this decision”
I read it more as, “I’ve been letting Ethan spend too much time with you unsupervised haven’t I?”
Is, is he having AI sex with the wifi?
I mean we’ve seen zeke literally drink it before years ago
I know, I just found it funny to say it that way.
helloooooooooo siri
No, he’s just… Jacking in.
cyber sex takes on a whole new meaning

Totally agree! I laughed out loud when I saw that. Great work!
I wonder if part of it is context. If Scott had the same expression after Lucas invited him over for pizza, would we take it differently?
I just cracked up hard enough that my boss looked in to make sure I was ok…
‘I don’t see any unmitigable danger’ he said. The naive fool.
Let’s see him mitigate this mental trauma. What has been heard cannot be unheard!
I think he sees lots of danger. Nothing that will harm people but enough that he can justify blowing the bomb.Something like Zeke trying to contact the Master.
Not that the Master would need to be contacted. He already knows who they are.
The Blackmail, remember?
Zeke doesn’t know that IIRC.
Except the master doesn’t know zeke is still alive and zeke may not know that the master thinks he dead(don’t think they mentioned that to him) zeke may taunt his old master which could cause the guy to act drastically.

Hey. I get it. We all have needs.

Did he want wi-fi so he could get porn?
Looking more human by the second.
That is the stupidest, yet most innocent request Zeke has ever made
While the voice would obviously be more robotical, I couldn’t help but think of him like Tom Ellis as Lucifer in this page.
I immediately thought of Metatron from Undertale and no one can tell me otherwise. why else would Scott be creeped outXD
Now he’s starting to sound like old Zeke.

The box is in the storage room, default password printed on the back.
