Unless he is a lawyer and then he’s less foolish since he at least knows the law and knows how to represent himself in a court at least. Still pretty damn foolish to represent yourself.
No sane lawyer would represent himself if he had any other choice. Your lawyer can get away with saying things you cant. If you did X, your lawyer can say my client did not do X. IF you say it not only are you on the hook for doing X but also for perjury. your lawyer has plausible deniability. Even if X is not criminal but just a minor point that could tie you to the crime you can go down for perjury even if your acquitted of the primary charge.

If he really wants to train himself to be his own lawyer, do it the gamer way and play the Ace Attorney games.
Then again, those are in drastic opposition with reality, but so is Ethan.
Now that could be entertaining … How would Danganronpa logic react to someone that respawns?

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “issue a subpoena”, doesn’t it?

Anyone else kind of feel like Ethan is becoming a bit too Ethan? This is just my opinion but originally reboot Ethan seemed a bit more normal and grounded compared to original Ethan. I mean he was a super hero, he had to be a bit more sensible and grounded but I’ve noticed lately he has been falling into his old habits more and more. Not a complaint or a criticism here, just an observation.
That is a fair point but we are led to believe that he has had that power and been fighting crime for a long time before these signs started to show. You do raise a good point that the stress of his lifestyle combined with other matters of stress and the strain of his particular power would definitely affect his mental health. Question is, is his recent ‘Ethan-ness’ being brought on from this stress or not?
It’s not so much this one example, it’s his overall behaviour over the past couple of months of comics. He has become more irrational and prone to reckless or irresponsible behaviour. It’s all more reminiscent of old Ethan than new Ethan at the beginning of this comic series.
At the “beginning of this comic series”, Ethan A) Held a perp upside down until they passed out, B) Wanted to pee on MegaGame’s convention table C) Wanted to sell souvenirs from their battle on eBay D) Died by impetuously leaping through a glass window and E) Used an explosive controller against a ninja he couldn’t be certain was a robot. So I’m not sure I’d agree that the last couple of months of comics mark any drastic shift for him… He’s always possessed his… “unique thought process”. What makes this iteration of Ethan different is that he has a… Read more »
I feel attacked.
Oh this cant possibly end badly. Dont worry ethan I’m sure you can SaveScum your way through this.
Any man who represents himself in court has a fool for both his lawyer and client.
And that fool is Griff

Possibly even more foolish, actually. Any competent lawyer would hire a lawyer to represent him/herself.

It’d be better than using the Danganronpa series

You die repeatedly only to be respawned and see how long your grasp on reality holds. 🙂

in Ethan’s defence, he concedes the point that he likely isn’t up to representing himself (after laughing at peena).
I think old Ethan would have started with the law suit and worked up to breaking into the developer’s office to try and help speed up the process.

Fair enough, I will concede my point then. Was just my opinion based on recent observations, not any criticism of the character as a whole.
Why am I only realizing now that Lucas is just a suit and a gallon tub of hair gel away from being a passable cosplay of Phoenix Wright?
I think the Judge would commit a crime after like 5 Minutes listening to Ethan. XD
Until the guys from MegaGame channel their inner Manfred von Karma
Wow, what a politician……..
“Ethan, say ‘penal system’ with a straight face.”
Objection sustained.
Do you have a rebuttal for my subpoena?
