Not sure about the laws in this made up city, but i am pretty sure that legally he is supposed to just give it back. Since there is a papertrail to their shop anyway.
Its an unpopular opinion to be sure; I would say as a lay person its probably a form of embezzlement or theft by finding. Legally its a grey area, but ethically and as a person who is trying to uphold the law as a vigilante, Ethan is honor bound to hand the goods over to the rightful owners.
There’s nothing wrong with dreaming up wonderful ways of not doing so but the current sequence is called ‘The Call of Honor’ not ‘The Call of Flamethrower’… unfortunately.
yeah… accidentally got put in storage under a box of other games and since ethan was too busy playing games, inventory was not done in time.
Happens all the time in that shop it seems :p
There may not be a paper trail – if all the paperwork says the right address and it just got dropped at the wrong one, it’s very possible no one would ever know. Maybe the courier company logs the drop-off and there’s a GPS location in a database somewhere associated with that specific package, but even then you’re already in the realm of human error so feigning ignorance might work. Of course, legally and ethically we’re in pretty deep waters. We probably always are when we start thinking along the lines of what we can get away with. Probably best… Read more »
Actually its the fault of the carrier. Ethically Ethan would be wrong, but legally speaking he’s under no obligation to return them. https://definitions.uslegal.com/m/misdelivery/ – again assuming their law and US law matches up.
If he just goes and hand delivers it to the right store, with no paper trail, could they not then claim that their package was never received, and then the documentation from the delivery company shows wrongful delivery to Ethan’s store?
Probably simpler (and legally better) for Ethan to tape it back up, stick it under the counter, and wait for the courier to come back around asking about it.

Return to sender. He is not obligated to send a package on due to courier mishandling. Returning it to the sender is the contractual obligation, not the societal one.

End of the business day, make a vague call that you have something for them on their voicemail.
Repeat every few days until release day and drop it off in the morning after they open. “We called you SEVERAL TIMES…”

Big company that their competitors are, do what you Like with this. Nobody and nothing said it was the Only box Megajerk had on delivery to them and would be a good twist if Ethan ultimately does decide to drop it off: ‘Oh that’s where those went, you can put it over there with the rest next to the big guy with the actual live flamethrower prop.’

Of all the wonderful, horrible things that could be done, the one with the most likely beneficial outcome is to deliver the goods unharmed to your rival.

I want to be a guy in the Megagame store when Ethan brings them in. Just so I can record the shenanigans about to happen. For some reason I feel like he is going to walk out of there having sold them their own games due to rudeness and incompetence.
Viking funeral. Respectful. Honorable. Good choice.
Meh. Nero did it before.
But Vikings made it cool
Now that’s the Ethan I know.

Nothing says they have to give it back RIGHT away.
Could be days before they “realize…”

The game they got is called “The Call of Honor”. I figured it was a mix of “Call of Duty” and “Medal of Honor”.
Yes, but to have that be the title, highly suggests there is a double meaning.

Don’t you dare Dishonored this comic. Ffs.
Bill them for storage.
I would put it back in the mail. Cheapest postage possible of course. Did the right thing but still screws the timing for the recepient
