No matter how much he struggles against it, Ethan is becoming more mature. Baby steps. Sloooooow pace. But there’s still progress.

OK, who is this and what did he do to Ethan ?

Way too much serious, reasonable thinking, especially that video games are a “distraction”.

Who? Time
What did it do? Growth

That might be, but its Ethan we’re talking about. As soon he sees video games as mere distraction, he’s not Ethan anymore.

I don’t think he sees them as mere distractions, he just acknowledges that in *this case*, he was using them as such. YouTube isn’t just a distraction, but I’ve used it as such in the past.

Ethan 2.0 is significantly more serious and thinks much more rationally than Ethan 1.0.
Not as different as 2.0 Scott but still very different, Lucas stayed the closest to his original self and even he has some significant changes.

Agreed. I can relate to that reaction at times. 😅

I live that 99% percent of the time, Ethan is a HUGE goofball. But that 1%, man, it hits. Makes you realize under the goof is a diamond hard core of genuine goodness and real intelligence.

I think V1 Ethan is a goofball, v2 Ethan is *being* a goofball. Difference being it is an aspect of his personality he expresses, not the corner stone of his being

Yeah, let’s not forget… if Lucas dies, he stays dead. Ethan just needs to learn from him how to avoid it in the first place.

This hit me in the feels a bit. Nice work, Tim.

Prediction: Ethan has a whole arc where he risks his life but doesn’t quite die, it’s emotional and cathartic. And then, immediately after the danger has passed, he slips and breaks his neck through clumsiness.
