He could “pause” things/people in their place by touching them.
If it is a moving object the inertia still has to go somewhere, so he can’t block incoming objects without injuries.

Yeah honestly it’s a pretty sweet power. Especially if you overthink it, though most powers are pretty absurd once you start overthinking them.

The ability to overthink superpowers is possibly the best superpower.

He was able to pause a rock flying at him in mid air but the kinetic energy still had to go somewhere. He can pause anything but he has to touch whatever it is.

At some point the answer to the question, does Ethan still have powers will need to be addressed. Not so much for us readers, but apparently for Ethan’s sake. If he keeps coming out in costume, he is pretty much looking for trouble or trouble will find him.

He’d be smart to let Gameboy hang out with him, at least for one night.

Dude…read Oedipus Rex so you never make a joke that stupid again. Oedipus was unaware of who the woman he’d slept with was, and when he found out he literally gouged out his own eyes from disgust.

Thank you! It always annoyed me that Freud named it that when Oedipus didn’t intentionally sleep with his mom and had no reason to think a woman living in an entirely different area could even be his mom. I also think Freud was just a freak for having such a theory. Like, to Freud, maybe that’s just you dude and you’re trying to justify why it’s normal to have such thoughts.

Not sure why you’re downvoted. I think it is a valid question. Both options are equally possible. His mom might be able to listen in at all times just in case of danger. You would want to be able to help your kid in situations where they can’t speak or answer a ‘call’. On the other there’s privacy and trust. It can severely affect any kids ability to function normally, let alone as a hero, knowing their parent is listening in on everything. Even with a great parent it can easily feel awkward for a child. Gameboy might be ok… Read more »

I’m just waiting for some plot twist, like Caroline (who works with Lilah) is Sam’s mom. 😅

I would love to see Sam team up with AnD to take down the Troll, with Sam’s Mom teaming up with Scott to act as Mission Control.

His mom’s superpower is that she has eyes in the back of her head.

Makes me miss my mom. Like Game Boy, she was also supportive of my dreams and my journey towards it. She gave me sound advice and instilled me the willpower to never give up, even now. Glioblastoma, the worst kind of brain cancer, murdered her a few years back (I refuse to accept death by cancer as “natural causes”). What makes it worse, yet amazing, was she was a breast cancer survivor before that. Let that tell you what kind of woman my mom was. She never gave up and went down fighting, even though she lost. I say this… Read more »

So i’m trying to think have we ever seen that side of gameboy’s head slightly more up close before? i’m curious if Tim ever dropped a few pixels for the far sharper eyed of us of the hearing device before lol

I went back and checked through all of Gameboy’s appearances (Turf, Demolition, Bite, and the past three pages). The way Tim draws ears occasionally makes it look like something is there, but as far as I could tell, there was no actual appearance of the comm device before.
