I do wonder why Drew didn’t tell him the reason why he wasn’t to touch the filament. It’s like telling people to not push the red button without explaining why, it just makes people want to push the red button. lol

This is ETHAN we’re talking about………….
Even if Scott HAD EXPLAINED, you KNOW he’d still touch the filament

This is the reasons why the US Navy switched their Red Buttons to blue. Everybody kept hitting the big red buttons to see what trouble they caused.

Wait, what? This sounds amazing! Any chance you could throw me a link on this, I couldn’t find anything when I tried to Google it.

Sadly, this came from a Reddit comment that was in Tales from tech support, so I can’t bring it up. The person who said it had posted a Navy IT story, so it sounded reasonable enough that it actually happened. Though this is the internet.

SCOTT (not Drew?) does say “REMEMBER, don’t touch the filament” so I’m guessing he did explain what would happen.

One would think a man whose superpower is to be able to die, again and again, might be used to a little pain.

Then again, for all we know he just stuck his face in.

Well if you think about it, while physical injuries in terms of say fractures or broken bones get healed, his “feels” never do. So he will still have the memory of pain. Also, it is possible that he won’t fully recover if he is comepletely minced up and then killed. Or if he dies after experiencing a fatal illness. Okay, basically he WILL “die” eventually through normal means, but this will be because his body still ages and he will eventually experience brain tumors and psychological ailments, but at that point he won’t really be Ethan and hey, maybe he… Read more »

The fillament itself isn’t hot, the nozzle and heater block is, but not enough for a loud scream.

to be fair, he suffers minor pain then respawns, in this case, it’s UNENDING PAIN AND SUFFERING, with no eventual death, so this is… “worse” in his case then say, getting his arms chopped off.

Maybe it’s, because im older, and I know fundamently the humour hasn’t changed that much between the old comic and this new version of Ethan.. but why do I find him to be utterly tedious and annoying?

No, just grown up and find his constant stupid faces and babble talk annoying. Someone like Ethan doesn’t actually have friends IRL, no one would tolerate him.
