Could be worse – he could have gotten into where he kept the pen.

And then Kate meets Lucas through the double date and then the two hit it off and a couple of years later get married. As to Ethan and Emily….
Well….
Long story.

I think Lucas needs to come up with his own little list of things he should never say, either. This is a bit of a departure from his previous incarnation.

Though I guess, if Ethan 2.0 is a bit of an awkward loner, and Lilah 2.0 is a hard-hitting no-nonsense type, and Scott 2.0 is a fleshed out character, then Lucas 2.0 can be a bit of a chauvinist.

Makes him a little less likeable, but no one’s perfect.

I don’t think he’s a chauvinist (unless only slightly) but rather is more willing to make odd, mildly unnerving statements to mess with people.

There is a difference between being a chauvinist and simply not looking for a serious relationship. Get this: sometimes women don’t want a serious relationship either.

As far as the pen analogy goes, I didn’t see you getting this upset when Ethan said he can have Emily delivered any time he wants with 2 day shipping back on page 7.

Well, ’cause Tim already said it was pretty inappropriate. And plus, it’s pretty clear that Ethan doesn’t degrade women from his encounters with Lilah, the way that he acts towards Emily, and the past relationship that he was remembering in A&D vol. 3 – so it wasn’t exactly anything about his character.

Woah, hold on. Having a lifestyle where you want to play with a series of willing and interested partners but not get into a relationship is not inherently chauvinistic. Let’s give Lucas the benefit of the doubt for now and assume that the partners he finds are just as “once or twice for fun”-minded as he is.

Maybe he got his heart broken years ago and now is afraid of relationship, I know that kind of people.

Maybe my issue wasn’t with the lifestyle that he leads. Maybe instead it was the sudden switch of a conversation from, “Wow, it takes me less time to do an office chore than you to get a date” to suddenly comparing women to an insignificant disposable item, which a man can grab, scribble around, deface, and then throw away without a second thought. You know, instead of as an actual person. Chauvinism isn’t leading a promiscuous lifestyle. It’s living with the preconceived notion that your gender is the superior sex and treating those of another as inferior. And please note,… Read more »

To be fair, nobody specified that Lucas’ date is a female.

Good job figuring out how to hack the server and put an old date on your comment from before the reveal 🙂

What I find so amusing about this is that the SJw cretins who were decrying Lucas as a misogynist for what he said about women (which was only that he isn’t looking for a long-term relationship… the monster!) are now quiet as mice when they know he was talking about men.

You know what sexism looks like? It looks like thinking something is degrading and demeaning (even if it really isn’t) ONLY when said about YOUR sex, but when said about the other sex, you have no problem at all with it. Fucking hypocrites.

Lucas never said anything about “Throwing a pen away” so I don’t know where you get that, Chew on it is not about defacing it or what not, but getting some playful fun out of it.

You are really reaching here.

Plus it seems like he is grabbing a guy any way so What evs.

I really like this, its nice to see Ethan not with Lilah right away. Its nice to see him evolve more as a character this way, excited to see where it leads to.

What are the odds for Lucas not paying enough attention and swiping Lilah 😀

Next to nothing, since the whole point with dating the delivery girl is to take Ethans thoughts OF Lilah.

Lilah isn’t Prime. (Statistically speaking if one uses BASE LOGIC)
And either way Prime sees A&D-Pad as an annoying wannabe hero duo.

The pen took on a slightly more specific connotation after the next couple comics 🙂 Semi-intended delayed double entendre?
