It’s funny you mention that. I did that just a few days ago to show my daughter. She has really gotten into drawing and I wanted to show her how far this comic has come.
While I’m pretty sure that’s Steve Buscemi (sp?), I am now totally hearing “It’s… a-me, Mario” with Walken’s trademark speech pattern of unnecessary pause, shoving two words together, and odd syllable emphasis – and it’s glorious.

Well there’s some fresh nightmare fuel I didn’t know I needed in my life. Thank you
The moment I remembered that neither Link or Mario really has many lines, and instead mostly just makes noises, I found this 100x funnier. Just imagining Nick Cage being like “Hyaah!”

Is that Steve Buscemi and Christopher Walken’s lovechild as Mario? Yikes…

Steve Buscemi as Mario is nice, but I’d prefer Christopher Walken
Danny De Vito! He was a great Pinguin and he has all the “Italianess” to be a politically correct casting choice 😀

Not sure if you were aiming for nightmare fuel but I think you hit it. Funny but disturbing as hell.

People are weird.
I don’t recall anyone saying they LIKED the original face. I actually heard quite a few complaints/ criticisms. And then they change it and everyone is flipping out…
They may not have explicitely “liked” Bubniak’s face, but they certainly grew accustomed to it over the course of the game. He became that game’s Peter Parker, so it’s still a little weird having him suddenly look completely different.
Oh, absolutely. It’s weird *now* as I was accustomed to the old face.
But I also imagine like 30 to 60 minutes into the remaster I’ll be accustomed to the new face and won’t even notice the change anymore. (If I don’t skip through the cutscenes I’ve seen twice to get back to catching thieves like flies.)
It’s just… weird.
“We changed the taste of fruity cocoa puffs to remove the aftertaste no one liked.”
“OMFG!! You changed the taste!!”
As much as i love mcu, I’d like my video game characters to be different from the mcu characters. Seeing too much of one thing really makes you dispise certain characters after a while.

Well Tim, if you ever can’t live off of drawing webcomics anymore, you just discovered your backup plan: drawing THAT for a living. Must be more fun than drawing porn for cash too xD.

In all seriousness – Matrix-era Keanu Reeves could’ve played OOT/TP style Link; quiet demeanor, stoic expression, full resolve. Tom Holland could’ve taken on a Wind Waker-style Link, being a bit more emotive, cheerful, and comedic.
Not sure about BOTW Link, who’s kind of a mix between stoic OOT and emotive WW.

Ehhh I don’t know….the new face he looks like he’s 14, maybe 16 at the oldest is the thing. Not like we have much choice anyways, besides who plays Spiderman games to be Peter Parker?
These strips remind me to click on the “first” button and really SEE the improvement in drawing techniques.
Good job Mr Buckley ^^

Scortch:
You sir/lady, have just earned my daily “there’s hope for mankind yet” Internet award.
Did you have to explain the “F%&%& dial up!” ones to her?
Nick Cage as Link? So many possibilities there…
Cage is too bombastic of an actor to ever be Link.
Tingle, on the other hand…
I didn’t know I needed to hear Nicholas Cage say “Tingle Tingle Kooloo Limpah!” but here we are.
… shit I could actually see that.
Dear god! Why did you have to put that image in my head. Now I can’t stop laughing.
I’m going to steal the Triforce of Power.
Can’t we get Willem Dafoe as Link? It would be…. interesting….
well.. there was a zelda 64 hack that put his face over everything, including link.
But who (or what) is playing Mario in this?
I would say Steve Buscemi
My first thought was Christoper Walken.
While I’m pretty sure that’s Steve Buscemi (sp?), I am now totally hearing “It’s… a-me, Mario” with Walken’s trademark speech pattern of unnecessary pause, shoving two words together, and odd syllable emphasis – and it’s glorious.

We both may need therapy now…..

More like Chris Pratt
Can they digitally re-create Bob Hoskins?
No. Captain Lou Albano.
Ooooh good call.

Most people just hate change. Full stop.
Peter got a new face every few movies and at least twice as often he got new clothes.
A little Steve Buscemi goes a long way. What would HBO call this? Boardwalk Kingdom, Mushroom Empire?
Game of Shrooms maybe?
I need an adult……
Thanks, I hate it. ?
At least its not The Rock right?

Literally everyone, because Spiderman is Peter Parker.
Yikes
