What bothers me with this is that Ethan might be Ethan, be he’s neither sheltered nor a clueless individual. It feels a bit strange for him to be this dense about that red flag parade.
When you’re being showered with affection & attraction (or what seems like it) for the first time in a long time… it’s very easy to lie to yourself, or at least simply not think straight.
Maybe after a discussion (or argument) with Lucas we’ll see Ethan giving the situation a proper think while he’s in bed trying to sleep, and realising all the red flags he’s been ignoring.

Personally I was for giving her a chance, since even though there is some red flags, she hadn’t actually crossed any lines. She was just very assertive. This would be crossing a line though, since it isn’t being assertive but manipulative.
I could see an argument for it being a “test”, or her own bad date trauma manifesting so she took control first. Then after that first date mellow out a bit.
But here she not only surpassed all that, she is speed running the abuser checklist.

I would have loved to have such a dating app when I was single, but I have never seen one that went beyond basic parameters like the type of relationship one is looking for or if someone wants children. Of course, that is much harder to actually quantify…

Sorry, but as much of a fan of CAD as I am, I’m noping out of this arc. This is triggering my PTSD – I was in a toxic relationship very similar to this which became emotionally abusive and involved a lot of gaslighting and DARVO. It is hitting FAR too close to home. If Tim is watching, I’d strongly appreciate an idea of how long this arc will be continuing so that I know when I can resume reading.
Yes, we all agree she’s a toxic pile of red flags. BUT am I the only one who still wants to see the story unfold? Ethan is a fictional character, zero harm comes from exploring letting the scenario play out and exploring the consequences. And it might even help people in the audience learn how to recognize the signs, and to avoid getting in that situation, or to recognize that they are in that situation, or even how not to become a Nicole.
