Missing Pieces, p15

September 6, 2024 by Tim

Plushie Interest Campaign goes live this morning!

We have 10 days to see if we have 200 people that want an 8-inch, squishable, loveable Zeke of their very own, to sit in the living room/office/bedroom silently judging your human meat shell!

Right now you show your interest by pledging $2; if we hit our mark, that $2 will be credited against the cost of the plushie. If we don’t hit our mark, you get your $2 back.

If this goes well, we’ll pick other characters to try and plushify!

-Truckers are about the unsexiest myth I ever heard, apart from hobos. Maybe tied with hobos.
-Freedom. Loners in the night. You know what truckers do?
-Cut up women and get other dudes to jack ’em off?

Scratch my previous comment; I managed to Google it and it’s a GTAV quote.
Pretty appropriate given Ethan’s antics.

You think truckers are a myth?

How exactly do you believe goods get transported all over the place?

Leprechauns with jetpacks.

I’m pretty sure it’s a GTAV quote like others have said, but in any case the myth would be of the glorified trucker – not their existence – obviously.

Hmmm, bet this guy didn’t get picked up by a trucker after his latest date pushed him out of her car at a truck stop after seeing what a psycho he is….

I found it on 10-year-old tumblr blogs so it actually seems to be a quote from GTAV.

I found some vague reference to the quote elsewhere but it didn’t say where.

To be exact it’s during the mission Pack Man, it’s said during the conversation between Trevor and Lamar on the long drive in a truck. (I recognised it from watching some speedruns lately, just couldn’t place it without Google.)

Trevor’s not the most… sane individual to be quoting 😆

when downvotes start, sheeps dont even question themselves and will downvote you to oblivion… Pretty sad.

In light of the quote coming from Trevor of GTA5 fame, the downvotes are still valid because it was too obscure for most to get the reference and no effort was made to clarify.

Interesting take, insulting everyone based on a downvote.

Maybe it doesn’t matter if we understood the reference or not. The joke could have failed. We might not agree with the contents. Maybe it is as simple as being too obscure to land with the readers. All are valid for a downvote.

Besides, similar ideas and acting upon them can be just as well a group of wolves, sheep or trolls. Who are you to decide which?

maybe in your country but in aus truck driving is backbone of our supply network and full of decent people. my uncle was a truck driver and super loyal man until he got tboned on a give way sign.

Truckers and miners keep the country going.

Definitely ordering the Zeke plush. I’d love an Ethan and Lucas plush too.

You can’t help but appreciate his commitment. Definitely getting flashbacks to when he and Zeke trashed the apartment after Lucas was gone for only a couple hours.

I think the problem with Ethan is he’s a very honest person whom commits wholeheartedly. Too wholeheartedly

When he’s not committed to other stuff like superheroics/dating/real life he falls back and commits to computer games

Dancing around on rooftops in lycra is the sane stuff that keeps him away from his gaming krypronite getting too addictive…

Even with the cardboard boxes this is roommate from hell kind of stuff. Funny to watch from a safe distance, but Lucas and Scott should qualify for sainthood by now

That seems like a good assement of Ethan 2.0 – he never half asses anything, anything he gets into he commits fully to, body, mind, and soul.

The problem is that he applies that to absolutely everything, even things where such commitment is actuvely detrimental to his health (physical and mental) and to those around him.

Considering the fact that he “filled up”, he’s probably talking about fuel.

Technically you could fill up your oil reservoir.

I figured gasoline, lotion that produces motion. Not solidly a lotion of course, but permissible because it rhymes.

Would love to order a Zeke but I fear import taxes + shipping costs.
I hope the plushie gets made and I get a chance to calculate costs before ordering.

Ok NGL, even with the outer casing being cardboard, this is a legit neat setup. Like themed streamer setup. Again, sure, its cardboard, but this is closer to an actual cab of a semi than pretty much anyone else.

What is/are the NOS? (If that’s a GTA thing, I only played the first one, so no idea about later games in the series)

Believe he’s referring to nitrous oxide which he might have seen in some racers like Need for Speed or in Fast and Furious movies etc.

To add further context to Zip’s comment, NOS is a substance injected into the car with the push of a button which then briefly boosts the speed performance of the car. Not something you’d want to do during a turn, but if you have a long enough straight line ahead, a NOS boost can help you catch up to / overtake the car ahead of you.

I’m familiar with the term NOx for Nitrous OXide. When I searched for NOS I found a power drink, which on the surface could have relevance to online game players, but tying that to a button on the (virtual) dashboard of a vehicle is a bit of a stretch.
