Which Bucky, Barnes? I don’t remember him dying. For good, anyway – he returned as Winter Soldier after his “death” during WW2, and if Thanos erased him (I don’t remember if he did), he would later be back with everyone else.
(in the movies that is, I haven’t read the comics – was it different there?)
You’re clearly not old enough to remember – Bucky stayed dead from the explosion in WWII for ~40 years until it was eventually retconned in 2005 (the same year Jason Todd was brought back as the Red Hood). So prior to 2005, the saying was “Nobody stays dead except for Uncle Ben, Bucky, and Jason Todd.”
I maintain that he already did, established Winter-een-mas, reinvented Zeke (which was then found by the Master somehow) and is lurking as a plot-device-in-waiting.
He’ll wake up in the hospital and ask what happened and if Zeke killed the troll.
Zeke will text him “no, but he’ll never be able to do this stupid grin anymore”
Oooh, the drama! As a comic reader, I’m just sitting here like “well? Is his power actually gone or isn’t it?!” But in universe it absolutely makes sense that his friends and loved ones wouldn’t be willing to risk Ethan’s life on pulling the plug.
Or it turns out his power is like Atom Eve’s (from Invincible) and it rebuilds him in a much younger state (well, goes to a much earlier save/checkpoint in his case).
Downsides being, that 1) his memory was probably also saved, so he wouldn’t remember years of his life (and would be in for quite a shock), and he’d outlive everyone else he knew. Many times, probably.
I bet Tim has a way of making us wait a week or two. I’m speculating that Zeke goes berserk after seeing Ethan. And that’s good for at least a couple of days.

What if he just fainted from the pain but is still alive? It could be that a stomach wound takes much longer to kill than a stab through the head or chest like heart or lung. So it could take a while for Ethan to die and then have his power trigger.

For me while I love the cliffhanger I feel like there’s TOO many going on atm. Thunder lady chasing the hacker, murder hobo speedster after getting stuck near gameboy, troll faceplanting by our robo friend 4 ever, and well this obviously. Really would be nice to resolve these even if they’re all happening basically within the span of 30 seconds or something in universe.

Ethan at 81 years old dies of heart attack, blips back, dies of a heart attack, blips back, etc.
Eventually they just put a fence around him making a sort of art exhibit out of his eternal demise.

His memory won’t get reset since he remembers that “dying hurts everytime”. So the memory of dying/ getting mortally wounded stays with him
