NMS didn’t just get a bit overhyped. It became the Grand Central Station of Hype. When you place expectations *that* high there is literally nothing left but utter disappointment.
See, Peter Molyneux trained me to expect that video game devs can never keep up with the publisher’s hype. So I learned to expect 90% of the hype to be BS, and that no game delivers on everything the publishers promise.
That’s why I never watched any of the promotional stuff for Cyberpunk 2077, and why I wasn’t disappointed by it when I finally got the XBOne version six months after it came out.

No Man”s Sky was awesome but a bit overhyped and slightly rushed.
