That’s what I’m doing right now. Evil run now, Drunk Monk next year, although I’m not inheritly super evil like kill everyone I see for funsies, more like I’m just an asshole evil.

To me it doesn’t even matter. I’ve played a few characters so far, all multiplayer. There’s still so many more classes and subclasses I haven’t even touched. A few extra won’t matter.
I do love that commitment of Larian thiugh.

Trust Astarion to keep sneaking up on you with new game content. ^_^
What’s that buff give you? Or was it a class feature?

It made me think of Terraria. It’s even a joke now, the “final update” happened so many times.
There are even players who are angry because the new update is taking too long to release. Even though it’s a nearly 14 years old singleplayer game, with nothing unfinished but still get additional content.
Yeah, Minecraft gets similar criticisms with releases, people complaining it’s not enough, or not often enough, etc. I feel like a massive RPG that may feel significantly different based on content/progression points is a bit different than a more sandbox-style game’s additions, though. That’s the whole reason I haven’t bought BG3 yet, either.
IIRC the main complaint with Minecraft’s updates is that they break modding compatibility every single release, and add… not much, that end users actually get to see. Sure, there’s tons of backend stuff that makes modders’ lives way easier with every single new release, but players don’t see that stuff, they just see a new version that’s gonna make their favourite mods stop working for a few months to add one new biome or two monsters or three new blocks or whatever.
Another problem with Minecraft is the community vote. I think no one likes it. I mean, it could be great (choose what you wish to add first, the rest may be added later if you wish for it) but we got: here are 3 things. Choose 2 things that will never come into existence.
Is Terraria still getting new content?
I have it, but didn’t get around to playing it yet (got other stuff on my plate right now), should I wait some more for the “final form” (if that will ever happen at all), or is it now done with updates? (for real, this time)

Considering it’s actually motivating me to get the game somehow (the only reason I don’t is because my computer can’t handle it and I don’t have a PS5 either), I’d say I don’t have any issues with it. I mean – it just appeared on my YouTube feed, saw 8 new subclasses, and I stopped the moment it said Oath of the Crown. Easily the most underrated subclass in 5e, now added officially. (Oh, and Hexblade too.) All I need is to have them add the SCAGtrips and the Aasimar race and I could finally do the build I’ve always… Read more »
It’s worth it to romance Minthara. Out of all the romances, she surprised me the most. At first, I thought she was one-dimensional. After she opened up to my Durge, I realized just how well written of a character she really is.
I believe some patch made it possible to spare and recruit Minthara without siding with the goblins? Though I struggle with finding an In Character reason to do so, why would we spare here and kill the other two leaders? She doesn’t give any better impression, morally etc.
Yeah, she is essentially a slave to the cult, being tadpoled and all, but so are the others, and given the letters we can find, she got here to destroy what the Menzoberranzan drow saw as a competition, not to stop a threat to the world or whatever.
I know 🙁
even in mass effect it was hard for me when you’re still “good” whatever

I loved Baldurs Gate 3 but completed it only once.
I felt satisfied enough and never saw a reason to do it again thust far. Can’t understand people who completed it like 10 times already.
I will complete it again in the future for sure. Just… not now… later. I don’t “feel” it yet.
I understand your perspective. I would offer the other side for understanding. Though there’s many ‘fixed’ points, how you get there and what you do during can be very different in each playthrough. You can change your subclasses, classes, weapons and styles with many just as viable as others. There’s so many side quests that have multiple threads that can be pulled or (accidentally) cut short. We still find new ones on our 3rd run. The main storyline is similar, with many threads where you can choose however you want to play. Even with these main quests I’ve seen conversations… Read more »
well you have so many differents way to play the game… also my first run I was such a noob…

I totally read all of Astarion’s text in Neil Newbon’s voice. He’s so cool in person as well. I just replay patch 7 and will replay patch 8 too! I love the game.
It’s funny. I actually strongly dislike Astarion in the game. But I *love* the version Neil Newbon is playing in various live sessions.

then, at the end of the next year, they go.
“and then we’ll decided itd be best if we just do Baldur’s Gate 3 2.0, we wanted to do this all the time even though we did not tell you, mega surprise, 100 hours of new content”
I just want to do something useful with all that rope I find lying around in the game. Whole RPG parties have live and died over having or not having enough rope to do stuff with. Climb, Scale, Descend, Bridge, or Rope Walk acrossed a chasm.
What would be hilarious was if all of that rope could be combined to create an artifact that lets you do something really powerful – like D&D’s rope trick or a ranged choke or whatever….

A hundred and fifty hours? What is this, a speed-run?!
Now that is a game-changer. Being angry with a producer for more unplanned free content.
Evil run now, Drunken Monk run later.

I KNEW I should have dumped my ranks into spot, listen, and sense motive!
its the single player version of my experience with live service games
Oh NO we have to play through BG 3 again? Darn. I’ll get the baby oil.
Diddy, is that you? Give the phone back to your cellmate, or I’ll tell the judge!
What’s that buff give you? Or was it a class feature?

City: Skylines is another product that does change stuff that borks significant mods and some of their Colossal Order updates don’t really give much.

What do you do with a drunken monk… -ailor.
Lmao, of course Larian is Astarion.
I tried 2 times to make an evil run. I can’t.
Yeah I tried Dark Urge and pretty quickly went to fighting it. I just have to be the hero in a game.

A lot of people had that reaction. You would have thought people learned after seeing Lae’zel or even Astarion himself.

So true. During my first playthrough, I collected ALL the rope I found, just in case.
By the end, I had… well, a lot stashed in the camp chest.
It never found any use. I felt betrayed.
What would be hilarious was if all of that rope could be combined to create an artifact that lets you do something really powerful – like D&D’s rope trick or a ranged choke or whatever….
