It might be a reference to Divinity: Original Sins where the stealth mode is basically the character becoming a rock, a barrel, a bush, depending on the environment – very funny 😛
That reminds me of a zombie vs. humans PC game (long enough I don’t recall the game anymore) where you started with one zombie and then every one they killed made the zombie side stronger while the humans tried to do tasks to get to an exit of some varied sort. Someone came up with a level where most or all of the zombies were barrels (and there were many similar non-zombie barrels for confusion). “That ones moving!” “No, it is a barrel.” Or “What?” (as barrel hammers someone who didn’t see it coming) I seem to recall the catch… Read more »
Thank you!| I remember that strip now! 😂 Accurate.

“It’s almost as if this isn’t a war at all, but a marketplace for leisure activities with a largely shared market population where any of us alienating a part of the user base reduces the market for all of us!’
“Always was.”
Personally I don’t like these stories about robots fighting since I like funny stories better.
Yes, I may be in minority so I’ll just wait patiently until Ethan comes back. Hey, been reading this comic for over 15 years I think 😀
I’m not rushing anyone, not saying “goddamit not this again” and I’m still here and will be here (this comic will outlive me). If that’s not patience then I don’t know what is.
If you go to the zoo and you don’t like the penguins then you walk past the penguins and enjoy the rest of the zoo. You don’t tell everybody who is watching them that you don’t like them.
It’s fine you don’t like the topic of this comic for whatever reason but why have the need to share this?
You’re opinion is fine, but don’t say you like “funny stories” better, because plenty of us find these stories funny. To be honest, I’ve found the Ethan stories to be less funny( not unfunny, just less ), and these side comics are more about jokes.

Dear Tim,
I love your work, and I understand taking a pause now and then and telling us other stories.
I’m still upset with you for leaving us on a nice cliffhanger, and going on a separate comic.
So, let me say with all the frustration this brings me.
WTF, Come on!!!
For future reference, Tim’s comics seem to match those of print, where a given story has an arc over 24 pages. The cliffhanger shouldn’t be surprising when you realize it is on page 24, left to whet your appetite for the next issue.
I don’t get this rock disguise joke, can someone help?
My interpretation is that they shot an actual rock, and thought they were attacking an enemy.
My best guess too, unless theres a rock or rock-like skin for a Ps5?
Maybe a reference to prop hunt in COD?

you’re overthinking it. He was so intent on earning the achievement that he shot a rock and presumed it to be a PS5
Wait until you hear about the solicitude of sharing barracks too.
I got to admit I love the idea of the console wars though I wonder if somewhere in this world the PC’s are just sitting back been isolationist
PCs don’t do war. We let that to the plebe.
He’s shown the PC’s before. They view the console war like an advanced culture viewing a primitive conflict.
AFK tours was a fun strip
Forgot that strip lol

No! More stupid tribalism!
Seems to be popular around the globe…

You might want to double-check your definition of ‘waiting patiently’.

dont you dare have a different opinion

This is the first time you’ve noticed a cliffhanger in these comics? 😮
