If he still had his ship here, he probably would have just shot the Aphelion from space last episode instead of suicide bombing it.
But there were other factors even before that that that ship vote could have come into play for. Such as when he was buried and his ship was right there waiting to be claimed…
He was already resorting to a stolen police ship by then and the Federation would be very cross to find it was destroyed by somebody they already don’t trust. Short of searching for and executing Grin, the 100% best outcome was to let him keep the stolen cruiser so that he can’t use the weapons.
The only downside to destroying Grin’s ship is it might have fallen on innocents.

Wild guess, but the sword isn’t nivium. The leg he just cut off is though…
I dont think he has a choice. He just reflected on the lack of choice that he had regarding weapons. That leg might come into play if its not nivium. If the sword is, well. Can he melt the sword faster than it can cause lethal damage?

Oh no… without his walker, he can’t get to the ship. He can’t even get away from that bounty hunter or else he’s going to start melting through decks…
We’ve seen him useing Nivium sandles before. I’d wadger he keeps those with him at all times (in the walker) in case he ever has to dismount. The walker increases his mobility and makes things safer for everybody but he can at least move around with just the sandles in a pinch, he just has to make sure he does not trip.
Its also possible that he wont instantly melt through the hole he’s going to make. Good chance that he’ll have a moment or two to reposition.

Funnily enough, because of how the narrative has to work…
Alternate timeline where the vote goes the other way:
* Speck and Grin are clearly in a stalemate that lasts until the ship gets going, at which point Speck gets back onboard while Grin does [something funny] *
Sounds like something that would happen in Austin Powers. ?

Hey Tim i just want to let you know that the video ad at the bottom of the comic is autoplaying sound for approx 1 second before it cuts off. I’ve only noticed it with the Spectrum and Clorox ads so far
This is the first time we’ve seen him without his trench-coat, so he very well may have been wearing it all along; all the same, I agree there’s nothing in space-settings that don’t have exposed tubes begging to be severed without a VERY good reason.
Id never leave the melt my arms off if i hugged you buddy behind
True, but now the risk is the ship failing and everyone (including Speck) getting trapped even if they fight off Grin.
So good thing we crippled his ship back then, right? I mean, we did vote for that or wasn’t that a vote option back then?

I don’t think he would be fighting a minion with a sword that isn’t nivium. He seems smarter than that.

Ya he might just melt right thru the station now, are there any teleports or something in this universe?

Hmm that tubed canister looks important.
If I had to guess, some sort of EVO support for his armor that was compromised the moment his helmet was shattered.
