Tin Buckle-y. There, I said it. Leg joke out of the way.
Great story so far Tim. Got me re reading all volumes the other day to catch up what I had forgot of the story. It’s all consistent from the very start. ?
You are a very good writer in my humble opinion.
Buying seems the better option, all things considered. Nyrah’s about one step removed from being General Grievous when it comes to life support (she at least still has an organic head), which probably makes transferring require a bit more of a practiced hand than any of the crew have.
He seems pretty knowledgeable in general about technology. So far we’ve at least seen him diagnose problems with the ship, I’d assume he’s the one keeping the ship together mostly or instructing Cort if need be. I can imagine he doesn’t actually fixes that much himself (Complicated bits anyway), seeing as he’d melt something if he made the wrong move.
It’s a robotic limb. I’m sure that Speck has at least a general knowledge of robotics, seeing as he’s likely the person who does maintenance on his own walker. Kind of hard to find an expert in Mimion transportation when you’re in deep space.
Perhaps he knows a lot about mechanical limbs because he uses them to get around himself?

It’s time for a character sidequest, get a new battle mech body for Nyrahl Hooray!

Have you thought about turning this into a campaign and setting for a RPG? I think it would fit really well with Paizo’s Starfinder rules and style (without the magic).
Well delicious backstory till – OH HEY! Let’s look at this leg and not answer that question! Cause boy howdy I love legs and not answering difficult questions about my best friends past!
Why not just do a story where they grow her a new body or something. Techno-organic.

STICK HER IN A DREADNOUGHT
More seriously, give her a proper combat-rated cyber body. iirc, the one she’s using now was only given to her by her torturers so she’d be easier to control.
Right on. Even if said body happened to operate at the same level she did when she was fully organic, she’d still be extremely bad-ass. And I’m betting she’d AT LEAST get some serious armor too.
I mean, it’s inferred from her background that she’s a truly elite fighter. Among the best in her entire species back before its extinction.

You know, I went into the archives a little… and I’m not finding the part where Cort talks about being framed. Does anyone else know where that is?
“Patrons get to vote on the next choice!
What will they do about Nyrah’s leg?
– Cobble together some piping to reinforce the existing structure of her leg and hope it holds?
– Take the leg off the *ahem* SAXbot 9000 left forgotten in the closet from the previous ship’s owner?
YOU decide!”
Yeah, running was a mistake. They need help.

So like. Break a leg?
Hmm new body… wonder if Speck has any spare walker bots – they’d make a cute couple both being in those and the same purple the and all 🙂
Sounds like a new and actually useful mission. New Body for Nyrah (meaning we need new MONIES to buy one or we steal it)! I’m on board.^^
Lets steal a combat mech
The moment that option comes up you know what the Patreons will vote for. XD
YES.
Preferably, one that transforms.

I note he did not answer the question…
That’s a political-level question dodging he did right there.
Speck is extremely knowledgeable about Nyrahs mechanical leg
Hhhhhhmmmmmmmm
It’s almost like he uses exoskeletons himself. Very suspect.

Made the wrong move or sneezed
Obviously, sneezing counts as a “wrong move”.

Delicious, delicious backstory. Love it.

Speck, is that you?
So a canopic view on life. Futurama Confirmed.
Someone’s dodging the question pretty hard there…
I think Speck does trust her by now, BUT out of respect for his friend he’ll wait for Cort to decide.
I anticipate it’ll come up again once he’s awake. I’d say she deserves to know, after al. Since her mission and life clearly depend on it.
Framed? Has that back story come up before?
Yes, briefly, in 3.02.

Damn, I’d play this adventure/rpg
