I believe this is the full page ad that was referenced in earlier comics. It is from Adwerks (advertising firm), and it can pop up between navigating between panels or even clicking on the comments link to engage.
I only snipped the add part, the rest of the screen is blacked out with an X to close in the upper left hand corner. It is full screen, regardless of the size of the screen.
Thank you for that information. I’ve passed it onto the ad company. I’ve yet to be able to duplicate it, but any ads that interfere with reading/navigating the comic are unacceptable here and I take it very seriously.
I was told the ad ops department will create a rule in the system banning that ad from displaying. I’m not sure how long it takes ofr that to go into effect.

I was seeing the same video ad for months (Firefox latest, Windows 10, tracking protection off.) Now I see 2 normal (and hungarian, which is on spot) static ads on the side, which is absolutely correct 🙂
