Hmmm, perhaps he felt a new caster bind to somebody, or maybe a shot being fired by somebody new, or a caster-bearer die.
Prob just felt a noticeable drain from a star and feared the feds caught their fleet.
Or perhaps Dranglaex/caster-bearers can be sensitive to the life force of other beings. And he is particularly attuned to his brother, and felt him die, assuming that was his transport that got lasered in the previous panel. Which would leave a starcaster floating in space, waiting there for the first people to figure it out
If it was Prince Kelias’ ship that just got destroyed, wouldn’t that leave two starcasters floating in space?

I’m curious why he needs this regeneration tank if the Starcaster heals the body, maybe there is something wrong or different about his physiology. It also seemed to take a while.
Different user, I know, but La’ni also had extended usage of their Starcaster, will be interesting to see the comparison and if any regeneration tools or time are needed.
Speeds things up the recovery process I imagine. If I recall correctly, didn’t they say that every starcaster is different. I also think experience is also a factor as well.
I assume the same, plus he did go overboard to shatter a planet. This tank could help the heavily damaged tissue heal a little bit, rather than rot or fall off thus reducing the work on the starcaster.

The fact the healing tank is so big and PINK just makes me chuckle vs the usual sci fi trope of a much smaller body sized tank and either clear/blue color. Its little things like this I appreciate with Tim’s art work and imagery in the various comics! Thank you Tim!
I actually thought of that later. Then it was too late to edit. It was too early for me, still asleep haha.

Huh … it just occured to me: Maybe we´re in for some Drangleax civil war, when suddenly two bearers of the holy starcasters try to dictate the war effort. Sibling rivalry has brought down some mighty empires.
That would be a suicidal tactic. They simply can’t afford any division with so much loss already. Their efforts are already in jeopardy.
But if they somehow survive I think they’ll be dead anyway. Daddy is in another galaxy with a really big army and several Starcasters. Though we can’t be sure, my guess is that their father didn’t send two sons to a remote galaxy if he wasn’t prepared to lose them. They are there to prove their worth, not fight amongst themselves.

“koff” is definitely the Dranglaex form of “cough.” Also, it fits on the page easier.

I have been eagerly awaiting the next time these two brothers meet again. Now that Kelius has a Starcaster, he won’t show his brother the same deference.
And for all that he’s a genocidal monster, Vectanix does what he does because he genuinely believes that he is serving some greater good. I don’t think he sees violence and power as inherently good, but merely necessary evils. Kelius seems to be the opposite: he revels in the violence and power itself, and see the “cause” as merely a vehicle to satisfy his bloodlust.
I foresee Vectanix killing their father, eventually.

If Cort took the shot, it’s possible that he shot down Kelius. And, after he hears of his brother’s death, Vectanix might become filled with vengeance, intensifying the Dranglaex offensive to avenge his brother.

Crazy thought…but maybe Cort disables the prince’s ship which forces them to stay and fight which then leads to this prince leading the rest of the fleet to save his brother. Which then leads to a massive fight with more federation ships joining the fray
Or the prince does escape and reaches his brother but the federation is able to track and follow them leading to another major fight.

Reminds me of a bacta tank. I wonder if that’s the inspiration?
He’s a PRINCE damn it, He DESERVES that giant, comfy tank.
”There was a note from the delivery service, so he went out to retrieve a package.”
Better questions at this stage might be: –
“Where is half our fleet? What do you mean we lost them?”
So like when do we find out if Ethan actually shot or not haha. Hope we find out before the weekend! Damn it Tim, you and your weekend cliffhangers.
My suspicion is that its not planned. A calendaric coincidence. (I’m going to coin that term now.)
Ethan? Not quite.

On the flip side, they might just agree to take turns between obliterating fleets/planets and commanding their own. DOUBLE SUN POWER!
Double Son Power, also appropriate.

It’s what they’re fighting over- undergarment supremacy. Draglanex are boxers, the Federation are briefs.
and Mimions go commando
La’ni was able to sense other casters, odds are he can as well, especially if they’re actively in use.
