Settlements are pretty much my main reason for playing. The “Decorating” wedge on my pie chart is about 10% bigger than Tim’s, with the difference taken mostly out of the “Looking for rare materials” wedge, and maybe a tiiiiiiiny bit out of the “Yelling at my companions” wedge.
But then, I tend to make my companions stand somewhere out of the way, while I go load up on crap to make them carry.
I never got into Fallout 4 despite loving the franchise. I hated the settlement mechanic. Took up too much time and was super annoying.
What? You can pretty much ignore the settlements altogether.
