Yes, I am aware that EVE Online continues to thrive (and I am constantly impressed by the updates I read about… perhaps when Walking in Stations arrives, I will be tempted back for another go), however EVE launched before World of Warcraft, so for the purposes of my little rant, it doesn’t apply. Even Everquest 2, which launched the same week as WoW, is still going strong.

I’m talking about MMOs that have to compete with the present day monster that WoW has become.
