Today I’m really happy to announce that, after months of work, Ctrl+Alt+Del’s Official iPhone app is now available from the app store!
With this free app, you’ll be able to check in with CAD for the most recent newsposts and comics all formatted for optimal viewing on your phone. You’ll also be able to receive notifications when a new comic is posted.
Additionally, if you want to have all 1500+ comics of the CAD archive at your fingertips wherever you go, even without internet access, through the iPhone app you’ll be able to purchase packs of the comics that you download to your phone, by year, for $1.99. The first year is free when you download the app.
In addition to the comic by year, the iPhone app also finally gives me a solid digital distribution option for other projects, such as the Analog and D+Pad comic book. All the issues of the comic book, including the previously unreleased Issue #3 are now also available through the iPhone app for $0.99 each. If this proves to be a viable option for the comic books, I’m excited about releasing further issues of Analog and D+Pad, as well as some other projects.
Now before you write in and ask, right now the app is only on the iPhone, however we are working on a version for the Android platform. Pierre put a lot of work into this app, and the iPhone platform was the one he was most familiar with, so that’s where we started. But we are aware of the very large demand for apps on android phones, and are already at work to make that happen.
So if you have an iPhone, go download the app and give it a whirl! We did internal testing, but this is a new application and it’s possible there may be an issue or two we didn’t catch. If that’s the case, please do not email me about it, as I’m not going to have any clue what you’re talking about or how to fix it. You’re going to head over the app support website so we can get your issue worked out. There’s also a “Give feedback / Report problem” button under the “About” section in the app itself that you can use.
If you have suggestions about features you’d like to see for the app, feel free to tell us about it. And enjoy the app!
