When the new Twisted Metal was announced, I have to admit, I did not feel the wave of nostalgia and excitement I had expected. I don’t know why, but the footage and details that were released did not instill me with a whole lot of confidence or optimism about the game. I thought something was missing.

If it was, as far as I’m concerned, it’s been found in the latest trailer. I can’t even pinpoint it, but something about watching this particular trailer gave me flashbacks of tooling around in the original game with my car/character of choice, Specter.

I’ve now been injected with a little bit of excitment for the new Twisted Metal. I really hope it doesn’t turn out to be a placebo.
