Withdrawals

CoH Update. See Below.

So, as of late my circadian rhythm has been getting more and more screwed in the proverbial ass. I’m staying up later and later, and waking up later and later. I’m sure you’ve all been here before. Hell, I’ve been here before, countless times. The only way to fix it is to let it keep slipping until it’s done a complete rotation around the clock so that you are back on a normal schedule, passing right through the “being nocturnal” phase. Or, you can stay awake for 24-48 hours straight, holding out with sheer will, and then finally letting yourself pass out from sheer exhaustion only when your regular bedtime has been reached. I have chosen the latter.

Conveniently (and perhaps not coincidentally) I have chosen to have the above stated method fall directly on the launch date of City of Heroes. By launch date I mean the pre-order head start date, which is Sunday. Regular public launch is on the 28th.

I mentioned last week that I had picked up Painkiller, and I’ve been enjoying that as well. Rather, I’ve been enjoying the single player portion. You could say I’ve been enjoying multiplayer, if you find getting what was once on the inside of you spread all over surrounding walls enjoyable.

It’s been a while since I’ve played a first person shooter dedicated to twitch gaming. I’d forgotten that these people just hold down the jump button, bouncing around the levels like retarded monkeys on heroin. I’d forgotten the art of splash damage. I’m out of practice.

But hey, the single player is a blast.

So Space Flight is finally coming to Star Wars Galaxies. It’s not enough to get me back into the game, but I’m sure a lot of you are psyched about it.
