Because that’s totally not another story of a protagonist who wakes up in a plastic box, under the control of an psychopathic yet somewhat charismatic AI, who is hellbent on escape by any means necessary.
And when Chell dies, your XBox 360 melts the disc so you can’t even restart from your last save, so there’s not even that similarity.

Seems to be a stalemate.
They can’t kill him, he can’t respawn out of the box most likely.

Now this is where we find out he has a cyanide capsule in one of his teeth, right?
For this kind of emergencies. Or for just being Ethan.
Not necessary – he could bite his tongue and bleed to death.
At least if they didn’t forget to remove his teeth.
However, in that case, the cyanide capsule would have been removed as well…
Ah – panel 3! Seems like the teeth still are in place.
That is actually a popular misconception, people don’t bleed to death when they bite off their own tongue, they actually drown from their lungs filing up with blood. Still yeah that was the first thing I thought of for him getting out of there. The only problem is we’ve never had a break down of how his respawn mechanic works in terms of where he will show up when he does.
Then he would have to remove and get a new cyanide capsule each time he dies. Plus he usually never respawns far away from where he died, so it won’t always help him. Here it might if he dies near the prison walls and hopefully reappears on the other side. Or just again on the inside till the inside is full of dead Ethans.
That is my question on him getting out by suicide. His respawn seems to take him back to a recent checkpoint(location not condition) so depending on how long he was out that point could be in the cage so death wouldn’t release him.
The cage wouldn’t fill up because his bodies despawn shortly after death. This was pointed out when the though of trying to sell blood to buy something and had him testing how long if ever past the point of extraction the blood wouldn’t vanish after his death.
Why would he need a new capsule? He seems to respawn with all his clothes and gear, hell I think his gadgets might even restock when he has his utility belt on. I imagine the cyanide would stick with him too. Unless you’re arguing that replacing one of his teeth invalidates the last healthy state thing, which might apply, I suppose, but I dunno. And he can’t pile up corpses, remember when he was trying to collect blood to sell, he had to wait until he’d regenerated new blood or it disappeared when he died.
I mean, he has clothing, he could just tie it around his neck

doubting Ethan’s intelligence is a smart move XD

So just wondering does Ethan get to pick his re spawn point? The bads here keep going out of their way to not injure him, including a suicide proof box. But if he just pings back in a few feet from point of death, a big enough room would do it?

Oh come on. Who expects a plexiglass prison in a darkened warehouse? That is a limit of his senses and expectations. Not his intellect.

I suggest he merely chews through his radial artery
Brutal but a good test of will power. I suppose he could smash his skull upon the glass, but then he risks becoming unconscious before he completes the job. I suppose choking upon one of his socks might be less horrific, plus he gets high before he dies.
Follow up question, do you reckon he could be into autoerotic asphyxiation in his spare time?

They were smart enough to put the breathing holes up high enough so Ethan couldn’t hurt himself trying to squeeze thru

He could tear his clothes into strips and create a noose, which he can then hang from the breathing holes. With suitable determination I think he could get up there.
Sadly I don’t think Ethan is the type to wear a belt and even if he did I’m sure they removed that, though in essence if he dies won’t he just respawn inside the containment?
Honestly? Zeke and crew probably have no idea. Like if they push him out a window, he re-spawns back in the building. So who knows how it works, maybe it takes him to “safety”. So they would rather be safe than sorry.

I mean, obviously there are ways for him to kill himself currently – personal violence, as well as just the fact that Ethan’s a pretty athletic guy, and a little careless wall-running and back-flipping could lead to a broken neck. I feel like the ‘exercise wheel’ bit was really more of a taunt, honestly. Safer to have him in the big box, when they don’t know exactly the parameters of what his powers do, and how far he travels with re-spawning. Much safer than keeping him chained up. Safer for a big box that’s impossible to topple it by himself.… Read more »

Now we find out that Scott has his own Guyver/Ironman suit somewhere and Lucas and Mecha Scott come and save Ethan.
Mecha. He should have a mecha. Something like a Gundam.

Not taking into account the time that may have passed between Lucas’s escape and now, even if someone does find him, they still have to contend with getting him out of that unless he can deathport out or they bring a shovel.

If he runs fast enough, and they gave him room… he can snap his neck colliding with the wall. He gets one chance before they figure it out and pad everything so he’ll probably wait for Lucas.
Then again, he could fail to die and be paralyzed instead.

The next comic should be exactly the same, panel for panel, word for word, except the last, with Zeke facepalming saying “Did that really just happen…?”.

The Cake is..?
… a lie of course.
Though I can’t see how that is related to todays comic?
Unlimited test subject… Who becomes so annoying he’s kicked out..

After panel 5, not so many of his teeth,

I admittedly had the same thought, but that would be a spectacularly brutal way to take himself out.
Brutal but a good test of will power. I suppose he could smash his skull upon the glass, but then he risks becoming unconscious before he completes the job. I suppose choking upon one of his socks might be less horrific, plus he gets high before he dies.

If Epstein could, he can.
