Ok, not gonna lie. Lucas had me scared for a second until the bottom panels. Well-played! I know The Troll is gonna make a return somehow but I got this sneaking suspicion he’ll be temporarily an antihero and take down The Master solely to mess with Ethan’s glory and taunt him that he can know who he really is anytime he wants. The Joker to Ethan’s Batman.
…or he could just be uglier than Jigsaw and dumb as a brick with his plans. Either or.
At first I actually thought it was just Lucas doing another prank on Ethan but as it went on it got more obvious. I realize “The Troll” is basically supposed to be “The Joker” in everything but name but now that he’s showing up again I’m hoping he’s not actually THAT much of a copy.
Or. He was ‘rescued’ from the hospital by a crazed fan who attacks Ethan and Lucas for perceived crimes done to others. White Knighting it, if you will.
Or even more fitting the nickname – he can write an innocent-looking comment that sends your mind in a crazy direction without you realising the cause. A silly example – first letters of each sentence spell “Lucas wants out”.
And Ethan being Ethan will get on to this, but, I imagine, will have lots of trouble convincing Scott or Lucas that it’s more than his crazy imagination.

Sorry that was to predictable for me. You read the comic thoroughly you know Lucas would never treat Ethan that way. Funny as hell though. The last panel was humorous. Excited to see s where this headed. I’m really enjoying.

Honestly, I thought it was a dream from the moment I saw the green shirt. Which is odd, because these guys don’t follow comic-book logic of only having one outfit anymore.

Why is Ethan even worried about the Troll? Worst case scenario, the asshole kills him, and I’m pretty sure Ethan kills himself at least twice a day due to his own stupidity already.
The thing about trolls and specifically “The Troll” here is that they don’t generally attack your mortality. They instead attack your mental wellbeing, your will to live and your ability to enjoy life. Imagine that for someone like Ethan who is in essence immortal. Is there any worse curse to be had than immortality without the ability to enjoy anything? Video games, friends, family, free time…The Troll has the ability to take the joy out of any of those from him, and we’ve already seen that the Troll just doesn’t care about who he hurts and why.
