Reminds me of one of my favourite dialogues from Justice League: Unlimited between Ray Palmer ( the Atom) and his Teaching Assistant.
Atom: “I can see the nanobot now. It’s grown. It’s [comparatively] the size of my car. Personally, I blame you.”
TA: “What? How is it my fault?”
Atom: “Well it can’t be my fault. I’m a professor.”
Theres decent size communities still playing Runescape, LOTR MMO, Counterstrike and its offshoots… if the game was good enough it may shrink in popularity but survive all the same.
Some of us can’t afford a $80 game or even a $40 one. We get to play them in the $20 range or less. So we provide some weak measure of lifeblood to these older franchises. <shrug>

Very similar to the logic of “If you’re not as good as me, you suck and need to get better. If you’re better than me, then you’re obviously trying too hard.”
The high strung bit is the hardest part of PvP for me. Like, I get it that you enjoy this game at a certain level. But just because I enjoy it at a different level does not mean I can’t enjoy it at all.
My issue here is when I get trashed on voice by those on the other team who obviously have played a lot. I haven’t. I’m okay with paying the dues of going out, getting killed, and trying to develop the instincts and tactics over time that one does. But there’s no need to engage in foul language and infantile behaviour *when you win*. I always find it funny too when you get kicked when you happen to be the best player in the room (like by miles). You make the right moves, as would other experienced players, and try to… Read more »
My distaste comes from if you lose then it is a genetic defect you have. Because everything else is superior to you. But if you somehow win, that was a fluke or accident. Maybe even a gift to ‘make you feel better’.
What ever happened to “Better Luck Next Time” and “Good Game”?
I’ll stick to Single Player games. Maybe a bit of coop with friends. Watching Mark, Bob, Wade, and sometimes Sean play coop games makes me want to goof off like that with friends.

This is one of the reasons I have pretty much stopped playing multiplayer games like SMITE. I always got blame spammed like this.

can you please put the next and previous buttons back to flipping through date posted. i dont care if comics are mixed up. as someone that has been reading since the mid 2000s I check every other day, and if i miss a day now i dont know because i dont know what comic category it was that i missed.
They do that, as long as you’re on the front page. Once you enter the archive for a series, you’re going back and forth between pages in that archive, but if you go to the front page, and use the top front/back buttons (not the side arrows), it will navigate through all pages in order by date.
my mistake, i must have hit the side arrows and then was stuck in an archive. thanks for the response.

Otherwise known as ‘my biological deposits hath no odious odor’ Used to play with a group of guys when ‘multi-player’ meant ‘everyone on the same LAN’ and we’d play Ghost Recon, SWAT and Rainbow Six. He had the world’s worst aim with grenades. We’d all be ducking behind a wall (trying not to be seen under the window) and he’d open the door, try to throw the grenade through an open window… and 90%+ of the time, you could hear the grenade bounce off the windowsill and land back amongst us. Of course, he was first up and ran into… Read more »

Reminds me of judgmental drivers. Everyone slower than them is an asshole, yet everyone faster than them is a crazy son of a bitch.
Somehow, they drive the optimal speed at all times.
I recall this guy raging because no matter how he tried to sneak up on me, I kept killing him. Largely because he kept narrating his plan to his friends which I heard because his chat was set to everyone

People still play Hunt?

The Hunt player base has grown steadily since launch. So yes, more people play Hunt now than ever before.

I feel like this applies to a lot more games than just Hunt.
Oh 100%.
I personally suspect it’s a significant factor in the death of deathmatch.

Yeah I don’t play PvP anymore…
I’ve always avoided PvP. I’m too casual, un-hurried, for that sort of stuff. Plus, I find PvP communities to be quite hostile/high-strung.

Those were turned into emotes people spam to be haters when Chat is turned off.
It sounds like the only way to win is not to play the game.
Nice “Wargames” reference.
“Why didn’t you warn me about the tripwire they set up? You had to have walked past it!”
*Also never warns anyone about traps*
Classic loser talk……..
or just elitism in general
