I know I keep ripping on Nintendo for this shit, but honestly… fuck ’em for their history of litigious nonsense. It has legitimately colored how I view them as a company now.

Part of me doesn’t get where this comes from, they had no issue with platformers or competing 3d ones. But tho throw a ball at an animal is too much? never mind that Digimon has almost equal vlaim on Palworld… I shouldn’t have said that out loud…
Quite simply, it’s because Palworld finally gave people what they’ve been begging for from Pokemon for decades, to pretty amazing effect. Open world, real time battling in a world that isn’t a bland pile of shite, a huge map to explore that actually has interesting stuff going on, base building that isn’t just some tired gimmick, and a progression system that feels impactful. That’s to say nothing of the utter hilarity of giving a tiny monkey a machine gun and letting them have at it against the bad guys. It was and still is a breath of fresh air, and… Read more »
