When it rains blue…

I’ve been getting a lot of emails about Lineage 2. I’ve also been running into a lot of people in-game who read the strip. It’s really great to hear from you guys, so don’t ever hesitate to say hello.

A lot of people are curious about the clan I plan to run in release. Let me give you a little bit more information, for those of you that don’t know how clans work. You level a clan up just like you level a character up. With each level, you get additional features such as land, houses, and eventually the ability to own a castle, etc. With each level, you also raise the maximum number of players you can have in your clan.

Now, the beginning clan player limit is ten. Ten people. So obviously I’m not going to be able to just invite everyone, as much as I’d like to. I’m going to have to be pretty selective, and I know I’m going to get bombarded with applications, so it will be difficult. In order to thin out some of the applications, here are a few guidelines that I want to lay down.

No fucking retards. I’m serious. If you’re a fucking retard, count yourself out. If you plan on PK’ing newbies just to be a jackass, count yourself out. We’ll be doing PvP, in a siege/warfare setting, but griefing other players is not what we want to be known for. In fact, I wouldn’t mind if we were known for flattening griefer PK’s.

If you plan to play two hours every Saturday, most likely you can count yourself out. Because of the player limit in clans, every spot is valuable, and clans are a lot of work. I don’t require twenty-hour-a-day hardcore gamers, but I’d like people who are going to play to advance. This is on an average… if you can’t play much some weeks because of school, etc, you won’t get booted, but weekend warriors need not apply.

You have to be a team player, and be willing to work well in a group. Also, if you plan on creating some super retarded player name, don’t apply. This is just a personal pet peeve of mine, but the name filter in this game so far is pretty loose, and I just don’t want to be messaging my lieutenants as ‘CoolSupaD00d’. We’re not necessarily a strict roleplaying clan (this game doesn’t offer a lot of RP tools), but if your character sounds like an AIM account, you probably won’t make the cut.

Other than that, I’m just going to be trying to select a good variety of different classes to round out the beginning clan. As soon as they release the server names, I’ll let you know where I’m going to be playing.
