I’ve started getting some emails concerning the opening panel in today’s comic strip. Allow me to touch on this subject for a moment.

Yes, Massachusetts did clear the way for gay and lesbian couples to marry. You can read about the supreme court ruling here.

I rarely, if ever, allow politics into the comic strip. However, at times and if it fits the character, I will take the opportunity to support an issue I believe in. And I support the rights of every human being to live their own lives the way they choose, within reason.

I wanted to publicly applaud the Massachusetts supreme court for their ruling in the matter, and it also served to further define Scott’s character as a liberal hippie, so the inclusion was two-fold.
