An honest mistake

It seems that Zynga has suddenly decided to give all of its employees free stock (options?) as a gesture of good will in the face of their current crisis. Certainly hoping to prevent everyone from jumping a sinking ship is a consideration as well.

Sounds great until you realize those are the very same stocks that just took a nosedive in the last couple of months. I think Farmville cash or Zynga bucks or whatever the fuck it’s called is worth more. I don’t like any of Zynga’s games, but at the same time I don’t want them to go bankrupt either (even if that looks like where things are headed). Solely because that would mean a lot of people losing their jobs, and we’ve already had one huge studio go belly up this year.

In other news, a multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 has reportedly just hosted a beta weekend in which over 1,100 people were in-game, on the same server, at the same time. And it looks like a lot of ridiculously good fun.
