Bad news: We didn’t get nominated in any categories for the Web Cartoonists Choice Awards. I didn’t really expect to get one, I was just sort of hoping. Looking at the list of nominees, the same web comics (PA, Megatokyo, Mac Hall) were nominated in practically every category, which leads me to believe that most of the people nominating just don’t know of very many web comics, so they just put the most popular ones in over and over.
Oh well, maybe next time.
The good news is this: I’ve been examining my schedule a lot over the last few days, and I’m come to the conclusion that I could increase the updates to four times a week, and not suffer too much extra strain.
I currently update Monday Wednesday and Friday. I’m seriously considering adding in either Saturday or Sunday. The bottom line is, that if I want to do this for a living, I need to entertain as many people as often as possible to reach that kind of readership.
But there’s a catch. In order to increase the amount of updates you get in a week, you’ll need to vote at TWC. This will technically start tomorrow, but I’m giving a heads up today for those of you that check in.
I stopped post whoring for votes months ago. And this is a one time thing. I’m not talking about any month long commitment thing here. One day. That’s it. Tomorrow. Here’s what I want. If tomorrow (Monday) we get enough votes to equal at least half of the day’s total unique visitors, I’ll start updating four times a week. That’s all you have to do, is click that little blue button up on the top right.
Just tomorrow. If you want to continue to vote afterwards, be my guest. Don’t count on others to vote for you and make up the count. Take the five seconds to vote, and earn yourself more Ctrl+Alt+Del. Prove to me that you want it.
