It has been a while since I’ve been here…
TBH, I’m just happy to be here.
Are you going to eventually release a short version of the console wars for sale?
The console wars will be collected into a book, along with the campaign, sillies and one-shots.
I am so extremely looking forward to that! 😀
I always wondered why you ended your original story line, I liked the ridiculousness of Ethan and Lucas every week.
Same here. I miss those guys.
I’m cool with the end of the original, but I do wish Space Archeologist had been finished. Oh well.
True.
It was like one or two issues from completion, then it failed.
Speaking of which Starcaster is a few from reaching a potential natural end…
god i want to… my entertainment budget JUST covers the cost of my internet though atm. best of luck with your sales tim, i hope you get more than enough to keep the electricity on.
@Girrocks001
Well, he’s been doing that story for a very long time, and as Q once told Picard “All good things must come to an end.”.
I am sure we’ll have to many more future stories to enjoy from him.
he’s=he’d. Forgive my lack of proper tense usage. XD
but that ending….. break his promise only once and hurt her….. MY HEART CANT TAKE IT DAMNIT
Australia:
Where semi-aquatic egg laying mammals (with a tail!) self induced helicopter parenting marsupials, Ihocane powder, 2nd best boxing species, opera houses, and sweet book deals await!
Also what if someone had amazon prime 🙂
in what world is that relevant?
The exorbitant part of the price tag based off of shipping right?
Free shipping and Amazon prime would make the costs plummet.
Though I doubt it is important, it is relevant.
I bought these during the kickstarter. You will NOT be disappointed! They are absolutely wonderful! Get them if you can!
A beautiful set of books that puts to shame many compilations by better known individuals.
Something to treasure.
Does anyone know if this is charged straight away or when it’s shipped to us? As I really want it, but don’t have the coin right now 🙁
My order is in. 🙂 I was sorry that the original series had to come to an end and sorry that it had to end that way, but it’s good that Ethan got his BDH moment. (If you can’t figure out the acronym, the first word is Big and the last word is Hero. You can figure out the middle word for yourself) 🙂
You will be pleased with the resolution provided by the book set. It was fully appropriate for Tim to leave it as a somewhat cliffhanger, but it’s nice to have the closure that hitting the final stretch goal provided.
Had mine for over a year now I think. Got it with the original Kickstarter. It lives proudly on my desk was to be admired whilst drinking from my Lucas mug…until someone broke said mug. I killed them and disposed of their body
This whole Australian shipping thing confuses me. Are there no printing companies in Australia that could print and distribute from there?
Hey Dan- that’s not really how book printing works. Books are printed with economy of scale. That means the more books you print, the less each individual book costs. I printed 6000 copies of this set, and that volume dictated the price per set (to print), which then dictates the sale price of the set. Now, if were to find a printer in Australia (or any other individual country) to JUST print 1-200 copies, the price of each book would FAR outweigh any costs saved from shipping. Additionally, I am not printing any more copies of this set. That one… Read more »
Hmm…so theoretically speaking could start a printing company with printers in the US, EU, and Australia. Then when you place your order they allow you to break up your order into different continents while still giving you the bulk price. At the point the only difference would be taxes. Of course then you’d need to distribute from there. I assume you normally have the books shipped to you so you can see the quality like you did with the Legendary Showdown Gamers Quest rewards. With a structure like this that prices would be forfeit on those international orders so it… Read more »
That doesn’t quite hold true. The reason book printing pricing is usually based on an economy of scale is because the bulk of the work is getting all of the machines set up and calibrated for the specific project. Color profiles, correct size and stock paper for the project, binding, trimming, etc. Once that’s all set up, the only real difference between running 1000 copies and 2000 copies is the cost of paper and ink, which is marginal. So therefore, printing the book in three separate locations is still going to incur that large front-loaded cost of setup at each… Read more »
Publishers in Australia don’t necessarily print the books locally, if the original book is published in the USA, then the local distributor will import the book from overseas.
Local print runs are incredibly expensive due to simple numbers. Local authors are not as a rule, profitable for the publishers here due to that simple fact.
In regards to the real world example of an extra 1000 books costing a $1.78
When working in the book trade, I unpacked a pallet of large coffee table books with a retail around au$100, we paid about au$60 and the local distributor who imported them from the overseas publisher paid us$1.25 (I know this because their invoice was in one of the boxes I unpacked)
That provides enough margin to cover freight/importation costs and the fact that the publisher back in the USA was still making a profit even if that was to just cover initial setup.
Would any of these be available to ship to China? Because that’s where I live and work most of the year.
Jonathon- We ship anywhere in the world, but the cost can get fairly expensive for these sets because of how heavy they are.
So if you’re asking if you can order one to China… of course. You can do that through our store.
However if you’re asking if I’d ever send sets in bulk to China to lower shipping costs… no. I absolutely do not have a readership large enough in China to justify that.
Awesome, I’ve been absent from visiting the site for maybe 2yrs. Installed Feedly back on my phone, 3rd swipe was this!! Ordered a set to catch up. I’m sure my son will like out when he is able too read too. Cheers Tim, ?
Do not try to squish a cat with one of these. Please.
I have recently received my copy of the first 10 years (New Zealander living in Australia) and it is beautiful. I have been reading through from the start since receiving it and it is tasking me back to where i was when I found this comic and all the laughs I’ve had over the past 10+ years reading.
Hoping to have many more years of this comic ahead, and thanks again for all the effort put into making me (and all the other followers) smile.
@Tim
I just ordered one of the volume set. But my address is slightly wrong.
Can you still change it?
I send an email.
@Tim , the email address was invalid..
Can you change the address for me?
Yes, but you need to email me the details. tim (at) cad-comic.com
Got mine when I was last home from work and it is absolutely gorgeous!!
The only comment I could make for improvement would be some kind of tabs to use for pulling them out of the case or perhaps slots on the end to push them out.
But otherwise fantastic and has a prominent place at home now 😀
Not a bad suggestion. If I ever have to do another boxed set in the future, I’ll keep it in mind!
:33< meow :33
Took a photo, then realised I had no real way to send it to you.
It was some empirical data ( aka proof ) that the box set is not in fact quite heavy enough to flatten a cat.
actually if you look a bit above, then you find an email address
Yes but most people I know wont open an email with an attachment if they do not already know what it is 🙂
Half tempted to buy another set. Still got the original one that you sent out

As long as Article 50 hasn’t been finalized (still a couple of years) the UK is still part of the EU so no need to mention them separately. Btw does that mean you don’t ship from Germany to anyone that is not in the EU (for example Switzerland and Lechtenstein) or did you mean Europe (which includes the UK too eventhough they like to pretend they don’t).
i was wondering which would be the cheapest option to have it sent to Singapore? i’ve been mulling over this since the kickstarter, and everytime a post comes up related to the boxed sets, i don’t have the dough to cough up for it! T_T
Couldn’t resist the urge to buy when i read that part about the EUwarehouse having 7 copies left. Ah well
I got it when it was on kickstarter and I have to say it was worth every penny.
Hey (hoping someone still checks this…) how limited is the stock for the books? I see a warning about it being limited and how it won’t be reprinted but i am currently very strapped for cash and can’t afford
I don’t get this game reference…
