Few week back I had opportunity to comment first. I went against it as it is stupid. But then I was regretfull as I have seen first posts and I knew it could have been me. Also lately first posts started to get out of hand. So now I am here. Saying first to get it out of my system. I may finally go to this page in peace.
Look at that. You didn’t even get downvoted to hell. What I want to know is how the heck you had time to type out all that before posting, and still made first?
Come on, give it to me straight: you composed this ahead of time and had it ready to paste, right?
and now I hope all the next ‘first’ will be some post like this one.

Man….that was a good arc. One of the best in a while. The fight between EvilZeke and D-pad took a little longer to get through but now I can go back and read it and really enjoy it one after another. Cant wait for the next issue.

Fantastic. This may just be the most thrilling and entertaining series in the history of CAD.
When Tim spoke of the reboot way back when, I was a bit skeptical, but I was all for it in the sense that sometimes to keep it fresh, you have to do something radical. Something I wish Sohmer and Lar would do with their respective properties, as they have become staler than my two month old bread.
The reboot is paying huge dividends. Can you imagine this comic based on the original 1.0 timeline? I’m sure it would be dead at this point.

That one bad time when Ethan will only be terribly injured but not killed by doing something dumb so he can’t just respawn into healthy Ethan
Hi Tim. I have an unrelated question. Considering the archive for comics, I find it both great and infuriating. Great for seeing what comics got released that month, but beyond that, it is utterly worthless (Harsh words, I know. I’m trying to use my big words :P) My question is, is there a possibility to alter or atleast expand the archive, so I can click a comic (Analog and D-Pad, The Campaign etc), and then get and overview of all of them. Like I wanted to read the second volume of AaD, so I click that category, and then chooses… Read more »
What is missing is an “All” option on the time filter since there’s already a filter to let you pick the major story lines. However, that could cause issues with page loading or the database.
My archive needs some work. What we did sounded good in theory (letting people separate and read by series), but it also introduced some issues that we still need to address. I’m aware of it, I just haven’t been able to get someone on it yet.
it’s always hard to get things like this ok but i think everyone will agree: use your time for the comics, not for the site. We will find a workaround.

I think there’s a potential problem with Ethan’s powers introduced with the tracker in Ethan’s blood, if he breaks a leg and doesn’t die straight away then when he does die he will reappear with the broken leg, his death is like a save state right so potentially he could get stuck in an infinite loop of blipping in and dying.
Not really, because he respawns in his last healthy state. So if he breaks his leg, he’s immediately not 100%. So if he were to then die, he would go back to immediately prior to the broken leg.
Now what counts as “100%” is open to some exploration. If Ethan’s leg were amputated, but then he was allowed the weeks and weeks required for the wound to heal to whatever it’s new baseline was, and THEN he was killed… does he respawn with a leg, or without?
@Dutch: But would he then respawn with a robot leg as part of his new baseline, or would it just be a normal leg (disappointing) all.over again…..or a stump even (possibly hazardous)? These are the questions that dont need answering but should get answers anyway. I foresee a whole stack of spare robot legs hidden in the changing room for every time Ethan regenerates.
Of course you know, but I’m going to theoize that he might lose that leg that way. The tracker stays in and its all healed over so his superpower recognizes it as part of his body now and creates one with the body. I would assume if at some point he broke a leg badly and it had to be screwed together and then healed the screws would keep coming back too.
Man, imagine having the ability to test out your tattoos and then just respawn to go back to a clean slate if you don’t like one. Of course, then you’d also have to go back and get all the ones you DID like redone.
One time while playing Tomb Raider (2 I think, on the PS1), I panic-saved at almost zero health with a maniac firing at me while I floated in the water. No amount of reloading that file could find salvation. Sadness…
ooooh been there…
I managed to use save instead of load in the middle of a fall… So whenever I reloaded then it was just

Pretty impressive, a 32 page arc. College math tells me I’ve been reading this for nearly 11 weeks. Thanks for the ride!

fun fact:
did you know motion sensors can be defeated by simply moving very, very slowly?
there’s even a mythbusters episode about this.
it has to do with the reality that there is always a certain amount of motion going on, dust, vibrations, wind, ect. and the motion sensor must be calibrated to ignore a certain amount of this noise else it would be going off constantly. if you move VERY slowly, it is possible to stay under this threshold. try it out next time you go somewhere with automatic doors.
And I felt way too proud that I got out of the room without them tripping.

I think the most critical question I have about the reboot is this:
How did Ethan last long enough to acquire his respawn powers?

I think this is one of the most telling traits about Ethan’s character.
Immortal, ( essentially) still worries about his own safety.
that tells volumes about this personality, that he does in fact care about himself, and since we know that he cares about himself that much we can easily see how that kind of empathy would extend to the world around him. Beautiful!
Given that his solution to a broken arm was to stab himself in the neck with a kitchen knife (as pointed out by Deaks above) I’m not so sure he exactly ‘cares’ about himself.

First
First, especially entering Ethan’s room, is not always a brilliant thing.
Imagine a trap where Ethan is safe in his bed but whenever he leaves the room, he dies.
I think dro who can help you about that “theory”
Anyway I should read less tvtropes. I read it once.
congratulations.

So he just offs himself and starts over, like he did when he slipped and crashed through the display at Megagame:

Is this foreshadowing something?! Robot legs are pretty cool I guess
@Dutch: But would he then respawn with a robot leg as part of his new baseline, or would it just be a normal leg (disappointing) all.over again…..or a stump even (possibly hazardous)? Well he respawns with clothes on, so I think ‘attachments’ like prosthetics would logically also respawn with him.
Of course you know, but I’m going to theoize that he might lose that leg that way. Ethan’s leg gets amputated and grows a new Ethan!
