Now here’s the kick.
Back when this comic was published (essentially July 2016) the price per bit averaged out to (approximately) $0.013 per bit. So essentially a penny per bit. So the last emote “SMYT” was approximately $100.00. Which kind of tracks with how things were ‘priced.’ Though we all know that Twitch would wholeheartedly deny ever promoting such actions.

Now, lets do the analysis. If we break out a spreadsheet software we can look at the prices published in the comic as well as current prices. We can get a $/bit and we see that the $/bit ranges from $0.021 to $0.017 (today) from $0.014 to $0.012 (back in the day). Using simple Price (PE) and Volume (VE) Effect calculations we can (be aware of the comparisons indicating which aspects are being evaluated) determine the following: 100 & 95 bits with a PE of 0.66 and VE of -0.07 510 & 500 bits with a PE of 2.85 and… Read more »

Ah is that what those stupid things are?
I was today years old when I learned this.
