And so my theory, that it was not the troll he was looking for, goes out the window ! 😮

I wonder, how many arrows can Lucas summon (and control) simultaneously… 🤔
Was it mentioned anywhere?…

And what’s the minimum size? And can he summon them in the inside of someone?

Even if not, he can move them through as early on Ethan was killed by moving arrows.

My guess is, like any D-pad, four arrows.

I wonder if he needs to keep some mental tracking on which arrow was which direction.

He already summoned 6 at once to save Troll’s hostages from the bombs on the crane, or did I misremember 3 to cut the ropes and shield from the bomb, and then 3 to catch the hostages?

He wasn’t sure how many he could do at that time, straining to get all those at once. Iirc he even sacrificed his arrow where he stood upon to do it, then catching all. It seems he can train more, with his concentration and mental capacity a limiting factor. The arrows also seem to have a size constraint, making it harder to summon bigger ones. He needed a lot of concentration when he made a super huge arrow that cut Ethan in half during a training.

At least 2, since he’s probably standing on one as well.

Nothing to see here, warden, just D-Pad trying to get his point across.

At least it’s an outside window. For a moment I thought Lucas had really broken into the prison complex.

Still seems to fall quite firmly in the illegal spectrum. On an unrelated note, how many countermeasures should a prison in super town have against unauthorised flying visitors?

I’m guessing more then there are now.

Prisons IRL already have anti-drone measures to try and prevent smuggling.

And yet, helicopter-based escapes happen somewhat frequently, and are often successful. I think prison guards are instructed NOT to shoot at helicopters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_helicopter_prison_escapes

I have no idea how Lucas is going to get productive information from this guy.

I feel like the best way might be just to tell him his prank didn’t work. Analog is back on the streets in spite of him. He wanted to end him by taking his powers. He failed.

Or the opposite, Troll might expect to be trolled. But if he gets a beating for “killing” Analog, he might break

Whatever you do, don’t tell the Troll that his efforts to break Ethan failed and that he’s out caping anyways and that after this encounter, nobody is going to even think about him and that he’ll die alone and forgotten.

I feel a joker scene coming up. They battle not with raw strength. They battle with intelligence. As the Joker stated when Batman was beating him: “You have nothing! Nothing to threaten me with. Nothing to do with all your strength.”

Even the Troll’s laughter is reminiscent of the Joker. Nothing but outwitting the Troll can beat him. Though I’m a firm believer their initial statement was the best. Their best move was not to play at all. Even when lives were at risk, it might have been better to have other (super) people handle it. Hindsight always 20/20.

I think the smartest say Lucas can do is to lie pretending that Ethan died through the Serum’s effects.

The potential surprise might give away, if the serum is fake or not.

I dont think this is going to go the way we hope it does. The Troll has no reason to tell the truth. Hell he could just lie either way. After all at this point if it *did* work, more reason to lie and have our fav hero die in a more permeant way

Moreover, The Troll appears to be the Nemesis of Analog and D-Pad. He’s not going to fall for anything simple or he’s not a worthy adversary. What I love about this comic though is him looked dejected and small, all curled up in the corner. I have to imagine given how he behaves he’s functionally in isolation, even if he’s in Gen Pop, because not one guard or prisoner is going to want to speak to him at all.

Let’s not be hasty. Lucas is no fool. He didn’t go there without a plan.

So, my partner was bummed at first, but now he’s having a personal life and he has never been happier. Apparently the whole superpowers and responsibilities were too much for him. Why, if it wasn’t you, he would still let guilt and social pressure drive him into heroism and madness! So anyway, thank you very much.

No, doesn’t add up. I think the Troll would see right through it; To tell the Troll that is not sufficient reason for D-Pad to hunt him down and force him against a window

It would be interesting to see, what it takes to make the always calm and rational Lucas loose his temper…(Cause the Troll deserves it!)

Dammit, Lucas. You aren’t going to get anything out of this except a massive headache, and you may have just let Ben down knowing that you’re willing to break the rules to get what you want.

Even if he did basically invite you to do it, that still doesn’t make it right that you did.

I think he’s going to “congratulate” the troll that his plan worked and Ethan is actually dead, while implying that he’s there for some revenge torture. All while hoping the troll will let something slip.

I wonder what Lucas hopes to achieve here. The Troll isn’t going to help in any way that doesn’t make things worse, and I don’t think torture would work even if Lucas was willing to go that far

NighTime

My guess is that he will tell the Troll that Ethan has died in action and check to see the Troll’s response. If the Troll is surprised that Ethan didn’t respawn it’d be a strong indication that he was lying and Ethan is still immortal. The Troll could still try to double bluff that response if he anticipates this type of trap.

As much as I’d love to know if Ethan really lost his powers or not, getting the truth outta Troll is gonna be as effective as effective as squeezing a stone for cheese.
