Kids not gonna die. Calling it now. At least not from this moment. The kid dying would end up being the last panel, in my opinion. Leave on a heavy note. This sets it up for someone to step in and save him. (I really hope the kid doesn’t die.)
I think we will be losing Ethan or he will atleast get pretty hurt. That would also open up some pretty good character development for ethan and the kid.
Or did I know you were going to think that, and set it up this way to make you feel safe only to rip the rug out from under you in the first panel of Friday’s comic?
i think all of the above they are going to try to save the kid and he still gets splatted along with ethan and ethan respawns and gets depressed and spends time at the hospital with the almost dead kid
Or possibly when Ethan shoves him out of the way he ends up getting paused, which stops his powers from working

If Lucas don’t use his Arrows or Ethan pushes Gameboy away, this will hurt. (Okay if Ethen pushes Gameboy away it will hurt too (in that case Ethan), but in worst case Ethan will die and respawn, and Gameboy will have the shockmoment seeing someone die).
That would be a MASSIVE power up to his abilities, but then that would create the question- Why wouldnt he use his power to save lives in the hospital? Dedicate his life to reviving people, rather than fighting crime? Arguably though, one could say he can only use his powers on a handful of others, and thats why he doesnt becoming the resurrection king, but still.
Ethan *discovers this new power*
*figures out that it only works on people that didn’t die of disease or natural causes*
*thinks for a few days…*
*goes to hospice ward asking if he can kill a few people*
This would be classic Ethan.

Squished Ethan in 3…2…1….wait he was too far away? Uhm, Lucas OP arrows in 3…2…1… what he couldn’t reach in time either? Crap, kiddo gotta be quick with his hands. Or maybe the Demolition Duke himself pushes the rocks away or uses his robot to guard the kid as in he wants to rob the bank but not really kill anyone especially not a kid. That one would probably be the biggest surprise, so it won’t happen. My money is still on Ethan somehow making it.^^

If the kid makes the machine stop with his superpower, will the dude inside suffocate?
Also, why does this site keep logging me out all the time? 🙁

Okay there’s no way that dude saw the kid out of his small window. Either there are cameras for 360° vision or I’m calling hacks.
Yes, but I just didn’t see a villain worrying about scratching a parked car or a little speed bump that had seconds earlier been chasing his basketball across the street.
Thats true, plus if you’ve gone through the trouble to make a mecha-suit to do dastardly deeds with, it makes sense that you’d want rear-view cameras to be able to watch your own back.
Killdozer, a real life event where a guy went on a bulldozer rampage, had cameras covering his view points. Check out CountDankula’s Mad Lads, he covers it with a fairly good video.
Wot? Maybe you clicked a wrong link? No ‘detective’ stuff here…

Plot twist. The kid die, then respawn. Making our super hero friend south jow usefully he really is and bring up something about new console being obviously better then old console. Giving him a “mid life crisis”

Damn, why can’t ppl enjoy a story being told and then react to the whole thing? I hate when my wife does this to me, try to guess where I’m about to go next with the story I’m telling
Hah, yeah… it’s just the way it is with this method of storytelling, where I can only do one page at a time. Flipping through a book or a comic book, your brain doesn’t have as much time to consider all the variables, so it’s easier to surprise the reader. Here, where they have 48 hours to guess every possible variation, it’s a little harder 😉

My guess, Ethan sacrifices himself to stop the kid from dying, then respawns, leading to him and the kid having a serious talk about the dangers of hero work after this is all over.

I was going to uselessly reiterate my point about Gameboy not belonging because he’s too young, in experienced, not trained enough and his power isn’t good enough to play in the big leagues… But then I realized isn’t that how Captain Prime sees our heros? Gameboy probably isn’t ready for this, but at least he’s trying to do the good thing and not using his powers to do immature and downright disgusting things. I remember in high school, when the topic of conversation rolled around to “what would you do if you could stop time?” The amount of boys that… Read more »

What if GB does catch them with his powers, but it turns out to be too much kinetic energy to neutralise, and it overloads him and his heart or brain or whatever gives out and he still dies?

So, either kid saves himself and pauses everything but gets hurt which makes Ethan feel even MORE useless and guilt ridden about having a useless power OR Lucas saves the kid which makes Ethan feel even MORE useless and guilt ridden about having a useless power OR Ethan saves the kid but “dies” and re-spawns which makes the kid think HIS power of pausing things is lame and wishes he has Ethan’s power which makes Ethan feel like a real “hero” as someone looks up to him.

You think we’ll be losing the guy with infinite revives? I’ll take that action.
Ethan would just respawn.
I know, that was part of the point.
Nah, Lucas will use his arrows to shield the kid like he did the cops
I think this is “meantime” as Lucas is busy with the cops. My guess is that Ethans gonna try to throw himself imbetween the kid and the debris
That is quite possibly the saddest possible outcome.
i make it sadder: Gameboy is Lilah’s son or at least nephew
Buckley you diabolical…
This is the part where we find it it wasnt infinite revives D:
Or possibly when Ethan shoves him out of the way he ends up getting paused, which stops his powers from working

what if ethan tries to push him but gets frozen and gameboy gets stuck in a coma and now lucas has to figure out how to undo it
A few slides back Ethan talks about ‘skull crushing’ death experiences. Next up we’ll see him have that skull-crushing time.
I’m gonna go with Ethan finds out he can give lives to a Player 2; reviving Gameboy
Oooooooh I like your idea
That would be a MASSIVE power up to his abilities, but then that would create the question- Why wouldnt he use his power to save lives in the hospital? Okay there’s no way that dude saw the kid out of his small window. Either there are cameras for 360° vision or I’m calling hacks.
Backup cameras or at least backup sensors to alert you that there’s an object behind you, are a thing 😉
Yes, but I just didn’t see a villain worrying about scratching a parked car or a little speed bump that had seconds earlier been chasing his basketball across the street.
No, but even just for general driveability, if youre field of view is going to be limited you’d want some sort of way to guage your surroundings.
Thats true, plus if you’ve gone through the trouble to make a mecha-suit to do dastardly deeds with, it makes sense that you’d want rear-view cameras to be able to watch your own back.
Hidden rearview mirror … or he is just not reacting to the kid, but being overly paranoid.
He was looking at a space next to his ‘window’ rear view screen is very plausible. Even for construction machinery.
Killdozer, a real life event where a guy went on a bulldozer rampage, had cameras covering his view points. Check out CountDankula’s Mad Lads, he covers it with a fairly good video.
We actually just passed the anniversary of Niemeyer day.

Okay actually though since you are working on this arc now, what is your take on this?
Wot? He declared tariffs on mexico. Nothing (in major news at least) has been said about ‘consoles’.
Or was that supposed to be a joke?
Apparently it’s true https://screenrant.com/trump-administration-25-percent-game-console-tariff/
OR … some things are going to happen.
Place Your Bets:
Kid Dies: 1:100
Ethan forever scars the kid: 1:3
Emily Swoops in in her own Superhero Uniform: 1:10
Scott dukes it out with Duke in a sudden reveal of his own mech: 1:50
My bet is the kid’s powers surge and he stops the rubble mid air. That or he sees Ethan die but doesn’t know he can respawn.
